Its certainly a discussion that needs to happen, because as life expectancy across the globe increase so will the overall population. I read a while back that it could reach 10bn by 2030. We can't keep getting older and older at the expense of people who come after us.
Quite simply the planet will not be able to sustain and provide for an ever increasing population. We may have to get used to mass deaths brought on by pandemics, natural disasters, starvation etc as mother nature will ultimately win over mankind.

Over population is a giant pyramid scheme. With an older population you need more young people to support them in retirement, with countries that don't produce enough young people importing them, it means that the world population has to keep growing. The older people control the government so it continues on with the oldest 'getting out' before the whole thing turns to ****. Hard to believe that we have five times as many people now as the Spanish flu epidemic. It's not a viable project long term.

Gardaí in Limerick have shut down 35 house parties that had upwards of 30 people at them in the Castletroy area of Limerick since last Sunday ( University of Limerick neighbourhoods ).
If I was religious I'd probably say something like Sweet Mother of Divine Jesus Christ, or holy ****.

Meanwhile 17yo Jack Edge ( cool name ) whom had no underlying conditions is learning to walk again.

It seems the young don't really give a flying fcuk about the virus or restrictions.
    Hope Jack recovers soon.

Belgium reports 3,175 new cases overnight which is a new record for them and 14 additional deaths.

While hospitalisations and ICU patients are rising there is no surge as of yet.

He means that for some perverse reason you refuse to accept the obvious fact that the sheep are out to get you.

Not younger people though, they see people die of alcohol poisoning and drug overdoses on a much larger scale and it doesn't put any of them off. If you expect them to stop living because of few cases out of tens of thousands you are very naieve indeed.

Plenty of young people give a "fcuk". Clearly they, like a lot of older people see there is no clear or coherent plan for the next 9 months after putting 6 months of their lives on hold already so may aswell go about things as best they can. These are the young people who were stacking shelves and checking out your groceries. The ones who were stuffed back into overcrowded secondary schools. What more do you want from them?

I don't want anything from them other than for them to get on with their lives. You wouldn't find any post from me slagging off young people.

They both use very similar terminology. Interesting.

TBH I never understood that whole phrase thing.
Whatever the kermit thing, it's a pretty stark warning from Mike Ryan.

Here's the full interview for those who care to take things seriously.

Are you suggesting that Mike Ryan is kermit?

    That is shocking

It's Saturday morning you should take a day off. Searching for misery 7 days a week must take a toll.

I didnt specify young people, I meant people in general.

What I was saying was that if the virus can strike down young and healthy people like that, it justifiably worries people.

Statistically influenza is more dangerous to people of Jack's age than Covid.

As Dr Glynn said the other day social media will rarely highlight all the good stuff that young people have done and continue to do during this virus.

    Dec 2016 = 100

    By now:

    All items = 102.1

Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance = 90.8

Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels = 110.6

Should I tell Jack about my 62 year old neighbour who contracted Covid and was back to work after two weeks?
