Not sure it's SJW but it's a very sad weird thing to be thinking about. Poster should seriously seek help.

Yeah BBC pointing that out. White House has a full medical centre and all the doctors he could need, they wouldn't be moving him for the sake of it.

Talking about him being " fatigued" which is often how patients are described when in increasing respiratory distress.

Or they might just be being cautious . They have just given him Regeneron .

He’s only on day 3 so not at a point where ventilation would normally be needed

Don't think they would give an experimental drug just as a precaution. Definitely not getting the full story I'd say.

QE started in 2014, no sign of much consumer price inflation since.

    Asset price inflation, yes.

Go ahead. Check energy, housing, shop prices and item sizes in 2014 and compare it to what is in shops now. If there is no inflation already I must be dreaming.

Note that the ECB does not lend to Govts.

It never has, and never will.

So the ECB does not directly finance Irish Govt spending.

    :pac:

Who said directly? They don't they buy bonds which are effectively IOUs. That's to national governments etc. Good thing they did this or the euro would have been gone.

They also bought quite a bit of Ryanair debt via corporate share purchase programs. The give money indirectly to banks also this way. Bank gets money at -0.5% and lends to stupid Irish mortgage holder (their words not mine) at 4%.

Many ways they do this. I'm not saying it's bad but the magic money tree is keeping many non viable business' afloat that would have failed. All in the name of inflation. The issuing of these bonds facilitates price inflation in their industry / service. This is the system.
Given the ECB’s main deposit rate is minus 0.5 per cent, the ultra-cheap lending is effectively a subsidy for the banking system and provides further evidence of how the ECB is pulling out all the stops to try to prevent the pandemic causing a credit crunch.
The banks are due to use about €765 billion of the ultra-cheap loans to repay earlier ECB loans that are about to mature. But they are expected to use much of the remaining €543 billion to buy bonds issued by their own governments – earning them an instant profit on the “carry trade” between the negative rate from the ECB and the higher yield on government bonds.

The central bank has also been active in transport, snapping up debt from airports and highways in Italy and France, as well as Airbus SE and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, which owns British Airways. Auto makers have been another major recipient, with purchases of bonds issued by BMW AG , Daimler AG , Fiat Chrysler NV, PSA Group, Renault SA and Volkswagen AG .

Some talk of super spreader event in Rose garden in White House when Trump nominate the Supreme Court justice replacement.
Wonder who the index patient was. The people in colour in the photo have tested positive. Interesting that being outdoors doesn't save you when there's no distancing.
The event was Trump’s formal announcement that he was nominating Barrett to fill progressive champion Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the supreme court. Ginsburg, who died on 18 September, had made clear that her dying wish was that her seat on the court would not be filled “until a new president is installed”, and Democrats have argued her replacement should not be confirmed until after the 2020 election.

A visual guide produced by Politico demonstrated the growing number of Trump officials and allies who have tested positive for coronavirus since attending the ceremony. Many of those who have since announced they tested positive for the virus were seated close together.

Not a 9euro meal in sight. How were they expecting to survive.

The meal is just another layer of protection. It is proven that people keep their mouths closed most of the time while chewing. This is why I think on top of the meal rule it should be specified that meals are chewy, consisting mostly of food items that require significant chewing in order to swallow and extend chewing activity. The soakage should also delay the onset of drunkenness so at the end of the time people are allowed to stay In an establishment they should still be sober enough to hold firm, follow the rules and go home to stay safe from the petrifying virus. The next three weeks will be pivotal guys.

Since the very beginning of these coronavirus threads there has been some truly horrifying demented disturbed rantings from individuals about this very topic. I truly think those people need to seek urgent psychiatric help because anyone who puts forward theories like that do in fact need it.

Your opinion and feelings are simply and utterly irrelevant. You can whinge and stamp your feet all you like, but it won't change public health policy.

You may as well not exist. That must be a tough realisation for one so self-important.

Keep posting on Boards though, demanding your agenda be catered to, like anyone gives a fcuk about it :pac:

I went into the local petrol station yesterday to pay for petrol.3 people out of possibly 5/6 did not have a mask and all in a confined space ie small local petrol station. I would have liked to walk away but had to pay for petrol..I have been avoiding the bigger shopping centres to reduce risk but I have to buy petrol!! I dont know how people can be so cavelier and are effectively putring others in danger as we live in a very high case per 100k area.its incomprehensible that people not only are flouting the guudelines but are so careless about others lives

While frets about median and context and to mask or not have come and gone the callous disrespect of elders by a not inconsiderable few has been the pervasive constant in this whole scene.

You only have to have a cursory glance through the various threads on here to see how lax many people's attitudes have gotten. Not to mention the OUTRAGE

    People are FED UP

Who cares about this virus it ONLY KILLS OLD PEOPLE

    Football is a HUMAN RIGHT

    The economy is doomed.

Fcuk these old people and their vulnerability give me my pint and premier league back now

Their naked faces make me sick (possibly literally). I was admonishing these types until some tracksuit deco decided to follow me home from Spar a couple of months ago while yelling and gesturing obscenities.

Interestingly some of the people who tested positive are wearing masks. Were they flippant about them and other guidelines behind the scenes and only wearing them when the cameras were running.

Ya you are right, it’s pints and soccer people are worried about. Not cancer screenings, postponed surgeries, home health services ended, mental health services extinguished, education out the window, livelihoods in the toilet, future generations prospects diminished, life changing events cancelled, and the complete isolation of the previously well elderly.

We are in a situation now where we are vulnerable like never before to the actions of others and the laziness/carelessness/arrogance/deliberate desire by one person to flout the rules becomes dangerous to us all

It is not like the lockdown where we were all cocooned. We have no choice now but to continue with our daily lives and go to work, kids to school etc

More like the grey death. I might be starting to sound callous, but I'm bloody well fed up with the world being called to a halt just because a virus is knocking off people moments before they step through death's door. There are almost 8 billion people on this small planet, most of whom don't reach thirty years of age and here we are trying to prevent the 'early' death of people well past the age of eighty at the expense of the vast majority of the world's population... it's obscene and one day the world will look back on it all and wonder "What possessed them".

There, I said it. So come on, all you who are clinging to the life of your ancient relatives because you are in fear of your own mortality, and pile in on me. I don't give a fu*k.

Its certainly a discussion that needs to happen, because as life expectancy across the globe increase so will the overall population. I read a while back that it could reach 10bn by 2030. We can't keep getting older and older at the expense of people who come after us.
Quite simply the planet will not be able to sustain and provide for an ever increasing population. We may have to get used to mass deaths brought on by pandemics, natural disasters, starvation etc as mother nature will ultimately win over mankind.

Some people are just really selfish and/or stupid. We need to be protected from them and they need to be protected from themselves.

Fining the shops for letting people in without masks would make a big difference. This would lead to instant wide spread enforcement.

100 euro fines on the spot, enforced vigorously, would also be a far bigger deterrent than a 2500 fine that never gets issued.

Definitely, something which should be discussed more. Are there links to the scientific people quoted?

The government has done the bare minimum as is, if they turn around and say educators, students and their families lives matter so little that no one even has to wear a mask I and many will just quit.

Do any of the previous posters that think a pamdemic is a good way of eliminating overpopulation( bit like the nazis and the final solution for the jews except for now its the elderly) flount the rules, go to house parties, dont socially distance or wear masks?
Are they forcing their opinions potentially literally into the lives and health of others?

As a point of information, Influenza is consistently disabling to all and sundry when it hits you, I genuinely don't believe you understand how the Influenza A/B viruses affect a person versus most other common contagious respiratory infections. It strikes suddenly and floors you. If it doesn't have that sort of onset it's improbable that it is actually an influenza virus. Even the most healthy will be physically floored by the shaking chills, bone pain, exhaustion, extreme dizziness, fever for at least several days. Most recover completely within a couple of weeks, but of course it can kill the vulnerable and elderly. It will inevitably cause you to be unable to work for at least some days.

I totally agree with you there. I think the people that don't understand it never actually had the flu before as there is no denying how bad it is.
It's hard to get out of bed nevermind work, it just doesn't happen.
I know middle aged people who have admitted that they never got the flu, so some people understand that it's just a bad head cold or virus whilst others insist it's the flu when it isn't.
