Glynn being calm and measured about it, but being pretty real about it.

But some involved spread within the guidelines?

I'd love to read the first one if anyone has it?

The one where the restaurant moved the tables further apart and reduced capacity afterwards, suggests guidelines weren’t being adhered to.

What's the end game without a vaccine?

There is none tbh as you can see from the presser the virus is spreading and will spread if people ignore the advice so in all honesty a vaccine is the only thing that will get us out of this and thats anywhere from a few weeks to 9 months to maybe never if the vaccines fail there trials.

Quite simply its a pandemic ignore the advice and you spread the virus.

Yes. ‘Window of opportunity closing’ to reduce spread.

Why does everyone think the stats today are indicative of us going to level four? It will take some time before we see level 3 actually make a dent in the reported case numbers.

On the 27th March going into full lockdown we had 68 ICU, 380 in hospital increasing rapidly.

Today we have 20 in ICU and 122 in hospital increasing slowly.

Please put away your disaster boners

Colm Henry is a shameless liar.

"as we've seen across Europe it's more likely the transmission occurred at home than at school"

Five minutes later they're discussing how 26 students get infected in a lecture theatre. How do those two sentiments tally. Schools have MUCH HIGHER levels of transmission with unpredictable (albeit small) people running around the place letting their body fluids and breath go everywhere and adults having to stoop to help them with things. Boll0x of the highest order.

This blame culture Glynn is talking about now. I only blame the government's absolutely appalling handling of the entire thing. NPHET can only make recommendations. The government clearly aren't taking heed of the advice, investing enough or acting fast enough. We'll all be paying the price for much longer. So if you're looking for anyone to blame blame the pricks at the top.

So basically on current trends we are around 3-4 weeks at most away from the 27th March figs.

    At the moment it's manageable.

But the numbers are heading up again, no denying it.

    Gates is a bit optimistic

    1. We already have that inequality on food
    2. I'm seeing a lot of self interest but very little altruism
    3. Maybe too certain on the vaccine availability x supply capacity ...but then again he knows people

    Time will tell

How many cases a day were we looking at back around that time in March?

Fear mongering, curtain twitching, doom merchant. If you constantly talk like that the virus spreads. Stay under your bed.

Am I missing something? How will a lockdown give us freedom?

We might as well get used to the fact that attempting to suppress this virus is not going to work short of locking everyone in their houses and having a squad of minders in hazmat suits delivering food and other essentials.
Or we could just get on with our lives taking a few precautions but resuming near normal social activity. Of course the virus will spread, but it is spreading anyway, so what’s the difference? Do we really think that we can continue this twilight existence for much longer. I know I can’t. I want to live my life, not hide away from it.

Cant really have that high of number cases again as we were entering the summer. Now we are entering winter.

A lockdown so hard there is no more viable covid. Simple and effective.

    Just psychologically tricky.

We need to grow a pair and embrace extreme delayed gratification.

    Winter will be ****e anyway

My young lad has been advised to get tested due to a fellow team member from the local GAA club testing positive .Should family members wait for test results before seeking a test themselves .Should his parents stop going to work until his results come back .If he has it surely they are at risk and so is their workmates .Management at parents place of work have been informed but are unsure about how to proceed regarding work attendance .There is a clear protocol in place for somebody testing positive in a household but its not clear for close contacts waiting on a result .Thanks guys .
