Bye bye any chance of Dublin coming out of stage 3

Never any chance of that happening anyway. Will just prove the pointlessness of the restrictions and of course the only answer will be more restrictions.

Over 9000 confirmed cases since August 1st. 265 of that number has required hospital treatment and 30 in ICU.

Anywhere to get the text of the example being read out now?

That's a good example of things people think are ok at the moment, causing pretty large spread.

why are the bookies still open . No social distancing, no mask wearing and people can be there all day .

Pretty much, unless people cop on and stop catching/ transmitting the virus.

    It’s not rocket science.

No because rocket science is verifiable whereas ascribing direct human causality to every instance of cases of a droplet-transmitted virus rising and falling isn't.

Those examples provided by Dr. Smith are infuriating. People not following guidelines at all.

Presser basically saying all infections are a result of socialising - hotels/bars etc and these are causing cases in schools...

Thats my positive takeaway from the rising cases. Hospitalisation under 3% and ICU 0.3%. Could be better but nowhere near 15% & 5%.

And thats just based on reported cases. True percentages smaller for sure. Which is really my bug bear. How is it so difficult to get any idea of the true spread. Can we not test 10,000 as a representative sample? We need to get better numbers, still flying half blind 6 months into this.

Is the message not getting across to people?

It’s worth remembering that 400 cases today =/= 400 cases in March/April - we’re testing about 5 times more people than back then.

    15

    That's what I thought I heard.

15 admissions in the last 24 hours, the disease continues to spread. Somethings gotta give eventually.

I think it is a case of people getting the message but deciding to ignore the rules, probably due to restrictions fatigue.

    Yep.

No other choice till a vaccine comes along.

People are just not following the rules.

The nuclear option is rapidly looking like the best option.

Few weeks notice, close everything but hospitals, segregate the staff.

It is what it is and we have to accept reality unless we want years of this sh*te.

Some loved up social media campaign about the great hibernation of winter 2020.

    Sorted

    Hardly.
Surely people are not growing weary of the daily
    "very concerned"
    "next 2 weeks are critical"
    "at a crossroads"

I have a feeling that once one euro country locks down, Ireland will follow.

I suspect that public opinion will change in early 2021 - People will start to realize that you cant live like this. This is like a social experiment which has never been done before!

Bleak bleak bleak is the outlook this winter.

Some of the commentary is that people are out blatantly looking for covid. I think most people are just trying to live their lives.

No. If people are not abiding by the advice then the message is not getting through.

But some involved spread within the guidelines?

I'd love to read the first one if anyone has it?
