I know one of the 70. Group of 6 went to a pub, had a few drinks, nothing more. Wasn't great distance between them and the other tables. I'm aware of at least the 6 and maybe more infected. The pub is now closed, and as it's widely publicised in Cork media it's probably fairly obvious which I'm on about.

God, I wonder what happened there for the group to become infected?

Was there anyone coughing, either at the table or nearby? Or would infection be from staff and the service involved? Maybe picking up dirty glasses and plates and not washing hands before serving clean stuff? Or would the virus be airborne or lingers long in the air.
God, I don't think I will be eating out again.

Would say it's more pubs than restaurants , but am only guessing .

Cases were down again today. Still below what Donegal's at, per capita.

Because they didn't have to introduce restrictions in Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, so they'll wait and see.

Our model now predicts 10,000 deaths from COVID in ireland by January?
    https://covid19.healthdata.org/ireland?view=total-deaths&tab=trend

Wtf changed? A few weeks ago it was predicting 2500 deaths or something along those lines iirc

That site has been way out with all its predictions since it started - not worth looking at

The COVID tracker app has been updated. It now tells you how many positive cases have used it to identify contacts, and how many contacts have been identified.
    Latest figures:
1383 COVID trackers who tested positive & uploaded their random IDs
2913 COVID trackers who were sent a close contact alert

    1.3m active users
40% of over 16s are now COVID trackers.

But according to some renowned Cork people with the population of Dublin two and a half times that of Cork , 70 multiplied by 2.5 = 175 cases in Dublin, which all would say is down to the Dubs partying, and what a disgrace !
    But its ok in Cork?

I don’t believe my post was worthy of any kind of a logical response but there you go.

The fear merchants need their pound of flesh..

    I have a suggestion

Lock down the city of Cork and all who sail in her, straight away, this minute... Let them sing in merriment from within.

Permit the good people of Limerick parish to resume business as normal... A few scoops down the local porter house never hurt anybody.

We'll keep the Galway crowd on hold, and will prepare them as a sacrificial offering if the numbers increase further..

    Cushty!

One wonders if the chosen ones (our glorious leaders) have considered applying differing restriction strategies to different areas with a view to grading the effectiveness of various restriction strategies.

I mean common sense does not exist anymore.

If people are having large indoor gatherings - arrest them.

If gangs are roaming the streets - arrest them.

If people are refusing to wear their masks or repeatedly ignoring warnings about keeping their distance in shops or pubs - arrest them.

But this requires A) a functioning practical legislative system and B) enough guards - neither of which apparently exists.

And so since the above cannot be accomplished, what does the government do? Destroy businesses, destroy sports, destroy arts and culture, destroy travel, destroy everything resembling living a life and not merely surviving. And people just accept all this.

Maybe they hope to cleanse the genepool, unfortunately the muppets are infecting innocent people.

Like clockwork, blame the people, people are stupid. It’s all people fault especially the young ones.
Broken record at this point yet it keeps going on.

Just sick of the curtain twitching and the constant ‘ this will cause x to go into lockdown’ comments a good Twitter video always causes.

It has been going on since even before the BLM marches yet I have yet to see any outbreaks caused by outdoor gatherings.

    It’s tiresome.

And yet 160,000 people die worldwide every day. More people die in a week than covid helped to kill since january.

I don't think you realise how stupid drunk hormonely charged teens are. The video in question isn't off some popular meeting point it's of a bridge, and this is a fraction of the crowd, and everyone of these students will be packing themselves into house parties that will go on all night. This isn't an hour long outdoor protest. I pity the cops, gonna be a busy week

Only person to reply to that video and mention lock down is you. "Curtain twitches " are the ones that don't seem to like the truth coming out
about numbers and people acting the bollo*

No an idea exists. A prototype exists. Worldwide mass production of a working vaccine does not exist. The EU have preordered an idea for now. Nothing more.

Some serious delusions from posters re big pharma statements and proclamations. Id be fearful some on here cpuld get taken in by an email from a Nigerian Prince.
No, they quite literally exist. They're in trials with thousands of people testing them. They physically exist.

Jesus, the speed at which people would throw away their rights just to feel 'safer'. **** that nonsense.

There is videos of queues outside Cork pubs also, easy to see why the young are being blamed considering most cases now are in their age groups
