Not sure to be honest there's a few it could be. I'd be surprised if Pfizer weren't involving their Irish operations in the phase 3 of their vaccine.

Is Phase 3 testing on vulnerable volunteers?

I'm 95% confident there'll be some sort of vaccine distribution by March.

Some sort of vaccine distribution is fairly vague.

The CEPI have made it clear that within the first year of production, only 1 billion people will receive a dose (2 vials each) so that's 2 billion vials of vaccine. The supply chains just aren't ready for the demand.

Elderly and essentials will be getting it first, so most of us probably won't get one until 2022.

Pfizer plan on having over 100 million by end of year, pushing to nearly 2 billion by end of next year.
Oxford plan on having 400 million by end of this year.
    And that's just 2, with 11 in Phase 3.

yeah great quotes for their stock price. they say a lot of things.

Just watching the Six O’Clock news there and before they cut to an interview with Mick Mulvanay, US Special Envoy to Northern Ireland; Catriona Perry said “we spoke to him earlier at a physical distance and outdoors”. Is there any need to state this, really??

All these companies are planning on making x million vaccines by y date, but there is finite supply of supplies required to distribute and deliver the treatment

Many are shorting the vaccine companies as they're inflated due to boasting of their vaccines. Pfizer won't take much of a dip as it's huge but the smaller companies are sure to bottom when or if people realise they're writing cheques they can't cash.

Probably, because someone would no doubt be on here saying “from the camera angle shown it can only be 1.95meters“

Major transport companies such as DHL, FedEx and UPS have already scaled both normal and cold storage in preparation for imminent distribution.
I recommend watching this video for an overview.

I think social distancing in people's own homes is feasible, i.e. one person in the kitchen at any given time.

I've been doing this since the start of the pandemic, but it's pretty easy since there's no-one else living with me. Currently there are no reported outbreaks in my household, so it is working.

The CEPI are the umbrella over all the vaccine distributions, regardless of what company comes with the final product. They control and arrange all the actors when it comes to logistics, including the likes of the video you've shared.

They've made it clear that distribution to meet the demand won't be possible and that there will be delays for most.

That couldn't be any more from the horse's mouth. I recommend you look into their study of eventual covid vaccine distribution.

So you're making predictions that it'll change? What does that have to do with what he said?

    Did I make any predictions?
Why are you taking what I said as making a prediction.
On the other hand I'm pretty sure you have made some rather outrageous predictions that have been proved wrong. And at the time of making predictions saying with absolute certainty that such and such won't happen - lo and behold it has happened.
Not that I need to explain myself, but can you not see the double standards in what you were saying???. Posting what Glynn said about cork, and then when Glynn mentioned 6 months regarding the vaccine, you jump on to say he was using media training to dampen expectations.
Perhaps he uses media training to bend the facts to suit all of what he says, who knows...
I was merely pointing that out, NOT making a prediction. Because none of us can predict what is going to happen here.

Puts things into a different perspective. As much as we consider the whole thing here to be one big mess, on the outside it might look like the exact opposite. Would make you err on the side of cynicism when seeing another countries great approach.

Have to say, once they figured out the infographics (inspired by Irish Times?), it's not too bad.

It's just the initial communication was woeful, and then they made it worse with the "level 2 and a bit" stuff.

Edit: and moving between the levels seems to be sponsored by the National Lottery.. "today's three counties are: Wicklow, Monaghan and Galway, and the bonus county is Cork"

Bit of context ref diabetes Its been well known long before now that type1 can be triggered in people by catching a virus. Mostly in children it's not the same as type 2. It really is scare mongering now to be pushing it so hard with Covid when it was a well known cause long before Covid. I know someone who was diagnosed with diabetes around 5yrs ago and first thing they were told was that was a pkssie cause.

There is every chance that Covid is the cause in this case but there are also many unknown causes.

Why is a factual conversation scaremongering ?
It is true as regards both statements as with myocardial inflammation etc, but while it is not unknown for diabetes to be triggered by a viral infection , what we don't know yet is the degree or incidence rate with this particular virus.
So at present we are just finding out the different ways it can affect some previously healthy individuals as well as those with underlying conditions.

No an idea exists. A prototype exists. Worldwide mass production of a working vaccine does not exist. The EU have preordered an idea for now. Nothing more.

Some serious delusions from posters re big pharma statements and proclamations. Id be fearful some on here cpuld get taken in by an email from a Nigerian Prince.

Here’s that slide dr Glynn talked about regarding the cascading infections that led to loads of cases.

Black dot is the index case.

Great to see detailed data. Singapore have connected all of their clusters this way and kept up to date in a web page.

What's actually shocking to me is the amount of social contacts the person had, all of which led to other cases, there were ten

Did they give any context as to how the person had so many close social contacts?

Now I do live a bit of a hermit life, most days the only contact I have is with my OH who I live with so that skews my view on it.
