Hi all ,after much deliberation pulled the pin and bought a new Niro phev,
Due to collect next week, anyone have one and if so would love to hear your
Opinion on the car good and bad ,and driving technique to get the most out of it
Monday to Thursday will be 20km daily ,approx 50k sat/sun ,with one trip to cork on a Friday, thanks.
Oh and also want to get home charger fitted ,closest to me is car charger.ie,options are the
Etrel home socket charger or the wallbox pulsar 32amp tethered ,both same price fitted
Don't have and won't have solar panels or electric shower ,so only to charge car each day.

What are you being quoted for the unit + install? Any SEAI electrician can install them, there's nothing complex about them, and you could source your own unit. A simple unit + install could cost you no more than the €600 grant.

That's nuts, get the charger yourself, the cable and the RCBO, run the cable from the consumer to where you want the charger and fix the charger to the wall, really simple stuff, then get a quote from an electrician to fit external socket, don't mention EV or he'll screw you, all he'll have to do is connect it either end.

If he tells you he has to run the cable himself to make sure it's done properly, laugh and hang up and call someone else. It's just a run of cable from point a to b.

I guess just be sure to tell him it's X length and it's Y sqr cable. For all the electrician knows you've run twin and earth.

People seem to focus far too much on that.
