    I would imagine the film isn't what it appeared to be but there is a Nonce at Netflix that eroticised it. I would imagine there are a lot of nonces at Netflix HQ, they have a lot of red flags, but if the senior people at the company (assuming they are not deviants too) are serious about basic ethics then they need to remove the person who made this poster and the people who OK'd it.

    I took the attached screenshot earlier myself for the record.

    The last line of the bio for this on YouTube has now been removed.

    I think it's grotesque for a corporation to get behind a production focussed on 11yo girls in a "twerking dance crew" given the sexually charged origins of twerking.

    But every other dance crew is ok because watch any of the current line up of kids based dance shows and movies and you will see exactly the same the outfits are the same if not worse in some cases

    Hmmm. I have a question. When Netflix were designing the US campaign for Mignonnes and managed to come up with this poster, did they photoshop in the kids heads on some idiot's patched up design for slap yer booty 11 year olds, or did the actual French kids in the movie do a photoshoot that resulted in that promo image?

    A film's marketing campaign is meant to promote what a movie is about. By it very nature, the advertising is how it is judged before it it is seen.

    That is good question because I cannot for the life of me figure out the poster was even created, let alone approved.

    If they actually got the kids to pose for this it is even more difficult to understand.

    The trailer is about that. The poster indices something else and Netflix itself has admitted that.

    And apparently there was something in the description of the film itself that was also an issue.

    If the film does include 11 year olds twerking then it's absolutely sexualising kids and I'm dead against it. None of that in the trailer though, just seemed like regular dancing. I did it myself as a kid in stage school.

    How the poster and the final line of that bio got approved is baffling. Did whoever wrote the bio not know what "twerking" means? Were they deliberately trying to provoke outrage? Very strange stuff.

    So someone at Netflix took what seems to be an innocent movie about dance, and created that poster, and then someone at Netflix approved it WTF. Only in America would such a poster be signed off on.
    But Netflix know how to play the world, maybe it was approved to provoke a reaction, maybe two Netflix employees are high fiving each other while yelling '' mission accomplished ''
    It's all a game when promoting, those in the photos are just tools to work with.

    I stopped reading the blurbs on Netflix long ago because they seemed to be typed up by some cabbagehead who learned reading and writing on twitter.

    They had probably never even watched the movie and had a brain fart session of what dance is "hip" at the moment. Just some idiots in a cubicle.

    It is the management that need the education. We both agree - who the heck gave this campaign the okay.

    It's 100% wrong. The cover pic is ...bizarre.

    The storyline is racist sexist and sexualizes children.

    If 12 yr old girls want to dance like they see adult women dance in their bedrooms that is fine. Its meant to be a safe space. They don't understand the sexual undertones. And even if they do they have the right not to be sexualized by society at that age.

    I don't know why the storyline is she is rebelling against her muslim family....ANY FAMILY would have a problem with their 12 yr old kid in a twerking group!

    Excuse me, but in this trailer, the 11 year old's mother says to her "You're a woman now".



    The kids are performing adult style 'sexy' dancing.

    If the nature of the movie itself is something of more deeper importance, they could have conveyed that in the trailer to reflect that. Rather it looks like a movie about kids who want to get away from their guardianship life to 'be who they want to be' or is it'to do what they want to do'. At that age.

    To say the least of it, Netflix have gone about this all wrong.

    It's all messed up. On the one hand it seems to something about feminism, on the other something about repressive cultures, and on another, that somehow it's about misogyny and racism.

    Whatever way you look at it, it is all rather *ucked up imo. The very title is screwed up for a start.
