I really enjoyed it at the time, I loved the whole real-time thing, very suspenseful. There were some very late nights watching it, I just couldn't stop.

Have a good few box sets on DVD I haven't watched yet, and tbh, 24 is down the list, so who knows when it'll happen.

I loved the earlier seasons of 24 though the plot is a bit ott.

I mean a guy gets shot in the neck and has emergency surgery and is out fighting crime 2 hours later :)

The earlier seasons of 24 were definitely better as they stuck more closely to the premise of it being a real-time hour. In later seasons Jack Bauer was improbably able to get from one side of LA to another while dealing with some bad guys along the way, all within a single episode. It was still enjoyable though.

    Two very different ones here:

Spartacus Gods of the Arena - great little spin-off from the brilliant main show
Pride and Prejudice (1995) - pure downright classic

    Pride and Prejudice.
    House of Cards.

    BBC at its best.

Had no idea there was a British version of House of Cards, must watch that. I'll vote for it too.

    And Death Note

While I do enjoy Death Note, and Brimstone looks intriguing, I think I'll have to go for the Stephen King Double Bill here...

Voting for Salem's Lot and The Stand because who doesn't love Vampires and Plagues

I voted for House of Cards although as the story continued in To Play the King it could be argued it had a sequel.

    Round 8:

    The Pacific, Hellcats

Two shows that couldn't be further apart.

Not a whole lot of shows that have appeared thus far were nominated by me.

None of them in this round and only 1 in the previous round, so take your smart comments and **** **** **** **** ;)

Eerie, Indiana - a favourite from my childhood, re-watched it a few years ago and the nostalgia high was great. Holds up really well.

Paths To Freedom - great shout whoever nominated this one. Completely forgot about it. Brilliant show.

Two of my noms appeared :D

Eerie, Indiana - loved this as a kid

I Am Not Okay with This - A new netflix show, I really liked it. It's a bit like Carrie

Wish I could pick The Tick as well

Well well well, it would appear we both nominated Eerie Indiana... The Tick also was one of my nominations... And I very much enjoyed I Am Not Okay With This...

Despite our many claims that our tastes rarely align, once again we find ourselves reading from the same hymn sheet... :D

But the real question is....have you watched Bottom yet? (which sadly had two series and couldn't be in this contest)

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47,411 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

There was another version of The Tick released in 2016. Peter Serafinowicz was superb as the title character. However there was a second series, otherwise I would have nominated it myself. It's on Amazon Prime for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Yeah, watched a couple of episodes (I like to savour shows with so few episodes and just watch one every so often), really great so far.

You definitely need to pay attention alright, its very confusing and complicated, but very rewarding as a result.

And I'm sure I already mentioned it, but be sure to watch it subbed, not dubbed.
