Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Where to find online the accounts of an Irish business for free?

    In the UK you can see so much information for free on companieshouse.gov.uk. But in Ireland you seem to have to pay a company like Solocheck for the same

    Where can we find online the accounts of an Irish business for free?

    If its publicly traded you should be able to get an annual report on the companies website.

    But for private companies you want be able to get anything as its private info.

    For a fee, Solocheck and other companies will get you the accounts of a private company

    It's bizzare that for British people to check out British companies, private or public ones, they can free of charge. But for Irish to do the same costs us at least 6 Euros per report for the private companies

    You can get the reports from cro.ie for a few (possibly cheaper than solocheck...as they are most likely accessing this site & putting a premium on their cost).

    It’s €2.50 on CRO for filed accounts.

    Good value in my opinion.

    Should be free like companieshouse.gov.uk

    But it's still cheaper than Solocheck

    It is a very long time ago, may be 25 years, it was when XBRL first came out, but I remember that there was an attempt to make this records public, but there was a court case by some filing agency or other that prevented it.

    Assuming that there is a cost involved in keeping these records, I would prefer that those who want access should pay something, rather than putting the full burden on the public purse.

    In the UK you have to be over 75 to get a free TV licence. In Ireland it is 70. is that bizarre?

    Companies are already paying a fee, to submit their annual return, so that should more than cover the cost of maintaining the records.

    It should be free but it's not. I use search4less. Can pull any documents you want for an annual fee

    The fees could not be designed to cover free unlimited provision of documents on request.
