I don't think I've seen such an abundance of mushrooms in years. They're everywhere!

Anyone else fields coming down with mushrooms?

    Fields are full of them

    Same here.
Even fields just reseeded this year have mushrooms.

It's an exceptional year on them.

It's a sign of healthy soil.

Only place i have them is on a spot that cattle trampled back to just bare clay during the drought.

Yes, noticed them scattered around this evening. Must be the wet after the heat!

Seen them in a field this evening that I never saw them in before

It's weird here as we are having them in fields we never had them and they aren't in fields they usually are. One field was insane with the amount-we have some happy neighbours now as well! Wouldn't have a hope in getting through them ourselves.

Any one come across mushrooms. They are out already. Must head off in the morning to look. See them from the motorway yesterday evening near Roscrea. With the rain now and ground is warm ideal

I associate mushrooms with Autumn, I note loads of Autumn berries out as well.

Any one spotted any this year so far? Nothing much in this part of Tipp. Might be a little early I guess.

  • Registered Users Posts: 280 ✭✭rubbledoubledo

No they were out in places a month ago. I got nothing myself yet. See them from the motorway just before the Roscrea slip road. That was early ok but this is the time for them now

I have been on the lookout for field mushrooms this year 2020 but nothing. Am I too early. When do you start looking?
Just read the dates on previous posts. We’re they really around in July. Oh well. I thought October

Thread is bringing back childhood memories of shopping bags full of collected mushrooms going on to a frying pan with butter and pepper.

    Happy days.
