Just watched RTE and BBC weather for the week - could have been on different planets as far as next weekend is concerned.

Rain, and from the SW! Maybe it's a slow moving feature by the time it hits Britain

what is going on with met eireann i went to their website yesterday morning and they showed zero rain all day predicted now at the time it was lashing out and continued to rain for most of the morning in North Dublin

    see attached

    ****in joke.

Why the hell don't they update these predictions when they are clearly so badly wrong.

In this case, all Met Eireann had to do is look out the frigging window!!

This incompetence makes the whole predication model completely useless.

Probably because they’re completely computer automated with no human interpretation. Amazes me how many times these ****ty weather apps are posted on here and have to tell the same thing every time, stay away from them!

    Breath taking incompetence.

Why are they even front and centre of their Homepage without any human intervention.

You have to wonder about a weather website that has a link to yesterday's weather. Who could possibly need it?

Just the same way that every single app, smartwatch, phone, etc. gives 100% automated output from a computer model (normally the GFS). The Met Éireann website is no different, except that they're using the Harmonie model. The BBC and UKMO websites are the same but use their own model.

I assume that was sarcasm. All national met services have this feature.

So then met office warning for thunderstorms in East Ulster, this is represented in the met.ie forecast outlook as a sunny symbol with the lightning bolt reserved for Dublin. They are useless.

Looks like met.ie is having issues. Goes into a loop with no map and oops message at the end of the page

New lady I haven't seen before did the 6:30pm forecast. If that was Linda Hughes' first live TV forecast then it was perfect.

A completely different day to the one advertised, for the better in this case. Bright from 10.30 with good sunny breaks in Waterford

Another new presenter after the 6 news. Elizabeth Coleman!

Poor Gerry is the only male presenter!
