New institution would have combined assets of €500m, 100 staff and 100,000 members.

Members of St Anthony’s & Claddagh Credit Union and St Jarlath’s Credit Union will be given the opportunity to vote on the proposed merger once the due diligence process has completed.

Surprised by that news today and be interesting how its received by members of both credit unions due to the huge geographic difference between both credit unions and difference between rural and urban credit unions. If there was a merger would have thought st anthony's and st columbas would have merged as they both on either side of city and would make for a strong city based credit union.
