Probably the first thing in years that actually has me worked although I still don't give a toss about the outcome.

Was it designed that way from that start or did they see his blubbering and then decide to do an angle?

It was done in bad taste when you really think about it, considering that everyone else got released/furloughed in the middle of a pandemic let's not forget and with a 90 day no compete, but a sappy teary video from Drake and someone had a change of heart? Or there was a communication breakdown with WWE's HR Department. Here's a list of talent we're cutting/furloughing.

But DON'T RING Drake Maverick cause he's booked for the next X number of weeks for the Interim Cruiserweight Championship tournament we've got booked for NXT.

Well you'd hope not. I'm hoping it was a Matt hardy sitution where he was fired(not exactly the same) but was brought back after the fan reaction towards edge. I really hope that's what happened.

Man....Are they going to hire everyone back then? Kind of a slap in the face to use this as a shoot work. But i guess I’m not surprised. Super happy for anyone getting there job back. But damn, real trauma and a lot of others were apart of this.

- Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Io Shirai Triple threat match for the NXT Women's Championship
- Finn Bálor vs. Damian Priest
- Adam Cole (c) vs. Velveteen Dream Last Chance Backlot Brawl for the NXT Championship (If Dream loses, he can no longer challenge for the NXT Championship while Cole is still champion.)
- Keith Lee (c) vs. Johnny Gargano Singles match for the NXT North American Championship[19]
- Mia Yim, Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox vs. Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai and Raquel González

I'm assuming the tag match is on the kickoff

That's not too bad.
Spent the last few days getting caught up on NXT since the last Takeover.
Couple thoughts:
-Karrion Kross and Scarlett look like stars, maybe lose the lip syncing but they have great potential.
-Maverick story was intriguing but definitely a bit tasteless.
-Timothy Thatcher looks a monster, the Pit Fight match was excellent. Hope this becomes a fixture on NXT when a feud demands it. I'm already worried about Thatcher on the main roster though, reckon he'll just become wacky wrestler.
-I think Rhea has really been a bit damaged by losing to Charlotte. She doesn't have the same edge she did.
-Shotzi Blackheart comes off a bit tryhard, the tank segment was a bit cringe. Good talent in the ring though. Women's division is looking good at the moment in general.
-The Gargano/Ciampa match was a letdown. I loved their earlier feud but definitely felt there was no need for this. I think things might have been different if things hadn't been disrupted by corona.
-Speaking of, what the hell is this Gargano/Candace angle? I think it's dreadful. Like Gargano needed a character change and they needed Candace to be more than just Gargano's wife but this is nothing.
-Cole and UE have really lost their lustre and have nothing left to do in NXT.
-I still don't understand the hype for Damian Priest and that goes double for Cameron Grimes.
-On the other hand, I like Dexter Lumis but they'll need to expand on him before he gets stale. Reckon he'll take out the rest of TUE tonight like his drawing showed.
-Not many great angles going on at the moment in my opinion, kinda feels like a lot of people have been a bit less interested in NXT lately and I see why unfortunately. NXT used to be my favourite weekly show but it's really not what it used to be.

I wonder will we see the rest of UE turn on Cole
