Is there anywhere in Ireland (ideally Dublin) that stocks a good selection of American Rye Whisky? Lived in the states for a few years and too a liking to Rye, particularly liked the Michters Rye. My local Tesco have a label on the shelf for a Bulliters Rye but its never in stock. Apart from that I haven't come across any.....anybody got any suggestions?

Celtic Whiskey Shop would usually have a fairly wide selection of Rye in. Conventional non-specialists are rarely going to go beyond Bulleit (which my local Tesco nearly always does have) and maybe Knob Creek; and some other specialists really only sell Irish and Scotch with very little US. Not sure if the shop is the same but the website for L Mulligan only has 7 American products in total!

Celtic Whiskey Shop have been pushing Mitchers on their social media recently.
A quick check there shows they have it and a few others in stock. You can order online from them too.

Celtic Whisky Shop actually has a special on Rittenhouse Rye 100 proof this week... €45. It's only about ten percent off, I think, but better than a kick in the teeth.

Another place for you to consider is Drinkstore ... They look to have Woodford Reserve Rye, Knob Creek Rye and the ever popular Sazerac Rye all in stock.

I'm a lover of American bourbons / rye / whiskies in general and one thing I notice is that it pays to shop around. Often you are paying a premium compared to what you the same bottle would be priced at in the U.S, but if you are patient sometimes good deals pop up. I've picked up Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare 10 at decent savings lately.

    Hi,

I buy nearly all my specialty drinks from The Whiskey Exchange, based in the UK,
    for Birthdays and Christmas.

Excellent service, actually ordered some rum and whiskey for birthdays coming up soon.

Ordered on Monday got delivered yesterday, better to plan ahead and order more than one bottle as shipping costs is the same for one bottle as it is for four.
I find them cheaper than the Celtic Whiskey shop.

    :pac:

Thanks for that. God they have a great selection on their website anyway, I definitely have a good look through some of those.

Yes I actually picked up a 2 bottles of Buffalo Trace a few months back in Tesco, think it was like €30 a bottle which was pretty good. Lockdown has been tough on the liqueur cabinet tho so its time to restock....:D
