Had some hikvision cameras installed a while back. Installer is no longer around. Two of the cameras are covering alot of the same area so i wanted to reposition one of the cameras to pick up a blind spot. To do this i would have to lengthen the cable. I have some 6 core alarm cable. Can i just join a new piece of cable in or is there certain joiners which must be used.
    Thanks

Use network cable and get a coupler. Have a look on Amazon for an RJ45 coupler. I had to use one for the same purpose and it works fine. If I remember correctly it drops the bandwidth to 100mb.
