First time I can remember online tests for a tax specialist role. Probably just to get the numbers down to a manageable number for the next stage

Last year it was video recording before interview stage. No aptitude test.

    Hi all
Has anyone completed the tests yet? What are they like and how many questions do we need to do in the 12 mins? I heard there are 15 questions in 12 mins but am unsure?

37 questions in the numerical and 49 in the verbal
Most people won't get them all answered it says in the instructions.
    I

Thanks, have you done these before? If so, are they similar to Revenue EO or AO questions?

    The seem very similar monkey.

Rog I think i got most of the numerical done but not sure about the verbal maybe about 30 of those.

Thanks, Are the questions straightforward in the numerical and verbal tests?

I have no idea of what the questions are like. Has anyone taken the test yet? This is the first time I have taken one of these tests!

There is a link to practice assessments in the e mail sent last week.

That should give you an idea of what to expect.

    Hi All,

Can someone please let me know if for the examples for numerical reasoning it gives you the solutions after you complete the practice test.

No unfortunately, it just tells you how many you got right or wrong in the practice ones. The actual test done but not dusted , I don't think, was over thinking the answer, could not find info in tabs etc. Although I do think it was more straight forward than last revenue internal AP competition. I don't know how many questions I got done, not enough I would say, that 12 mins is quickest of your life, roughly 15 seconds to read find and answer question. At least over with now, at least the language and questions were straight forward, even if I would need an hour ideally to answer them. Brain is fried. 🀯

Felt the same way just could not see the answers on the verbal so I didn't know if it was cannot say from the info or cannot say because of myself. I skipped a good few as also didn't know was it better to not answer or to give a wrong answer.

Thanks for feedback. Is the actual test similar to the practice tests whereby they are using the tabs whereby you have to scroll to correct tab which the questions actually relates.

Might there be additional online testing such as a role play or other online tests?

Revenue don’t normally do any additional tests except the ones we just did. Although with the current climate, they may introduce further ones

Can you imagine how horrific a full remote interview would be!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 225 ✭✭Anonire

I'd say maybe online video similar to last year.

Agree a full remote interview would be awful but if needs must.

Was it an asynchronous video assessment like the one for Revenue AO?

  • Registered Users Posts: 204 ✭✭nazzy

The video assessment was three or four pre determined questions and you had to record your three minute answer for each one. It was a tight deadline - given on a Thursday and due by Monday. And at that stage, no forms had been submitted.

Had forgotten it was a quick turnaround.

Jw very similar to the ao this year, different questions but the same set up except you only got one attempt at each recording last year. And as nazzy said no forms had been submitted prior to the video assessment.

If I were a gambling man, I'd bet that they wont be issuing any more stages this side of the bank holiday. I want the weekend off too!
