Other side of the playoffs now blown wide open

    Gutted.

Defense just not good enough for most of the game, never got a hold of Adams at all.

Think Green Bay were there to be taken and maybe with either of Penny/Carson the run game would have worked out but as it was we should have only let Wilson scramble for rushes and aired the ball out more. Looked the better team in the 2nd half.

Not enough lessons learned from last week. Lynch 12 carries for 26 yards after him and Homer going 19 yards off 17 carries last week.

No takeaways in the last 4 games either

Maybe not enough lessons learned from last YEAR ;) Its another missed opportunity, although with better injury luck we were as good as anybody else.

But I'm going to be optimistic for next year. We have cap space, 3 picks in the first 2 rounds, and improving players. The coming season is a great opportunity for the staff if they don't blow it.

Need to make the most of Wilson, the lad's a born winner, would be a shame to not win another with him

So after the loss we must blame someone, question is who? Tre Flowers? Turner? Running game? Injuries? Defence? Refs? Carroll? All of the above? I kid.

I'm disappointed in the way the first half went. Wilson was off on a few throws, Hollister had a bad drop and the running game was pants. Defence gave up a lot to Jones and Adams. Graham had a few first down pick ups but that was it. Flowers was beat constantly. A big learning day for him just a pity it happens in the playoffs.

Wilson really got going in the second half. Lockett was back to his all time best. Even seeing him get chippy after big completions which he never does. It looked like the tide had changed. Packers were nervy. But just when you needed the defence to get a big stop they give up 3 third and longs in the last 2 possessions. One more stop there and Wilson has his chance. Turners drop on 2nd down was unforgivable and then compounded with the sack so they decided to punt.

Either way that's how the season ends. A lot further than expected. Next year with a lot of cap space and draft picks, they need to really go all out. First thing is first, win the division. In order to do that you need to be beating the 3 teams. We beat them all once but none of them twice. Offence is there, hopefully get a full season out of Dissly. Defence needs the work. Resign Clowney and find another stud pass rusher. There has to be pressure on the qb to succeed in this league.

I suppose all that is left is to enjoy the remaining 3 games (supporting the AFC champion) and then straight into the long postseason

Echo alot of the above - weren't supposed to get this far this year! I saw 6-10 predictions before the season started and still disappointed not to go the NFC Championship game.

This off season will all be about the two lines, have plenty of cap and picks so see who comes back/comes in.

Hopefully injuries wont be as bad next year.

So a post on Facebook earlier

The first quarter of 2020 is like the first quarter of a Seahawks game.

Cant wait to stay up tonight to watch us trade the first round pick. A yearly tradition!

Byes a bit early! Hopefully means dont run out of steam down the stretch. Ending again with a game against the Niners.

4 6pm games, 4 late night games and 8 in the usual half 9 window - more spread out than previous years.

Pats and Cowboys in Seattle weeks 2 and 3 - some tasty ones to get going!

Kind schedule, but the entire West looks to have the same type of difficulty.

Been thinking recently about the impact of having an empty stadium, No 12s. 16-0 :pac:

Pretty soft schedule on paper, looks like an 11-5 year to me with the hardest games being the divisional ones.

Rams will bounce back, Cardinals should improve also and 49ers obviously strong, toughest division in football this year?

A mini bye just before Thanksgiving is nice to counteract the early bye.

If anyone's following the Dunbar armed robbery story, his lawyer now says he has statements from the 5 witnesses who fingered Dunbar saying he's innocent! There'll likely be twists and turns yet but maybe he can salvage something out of this.

With the big 10 postponing their season until next year, this year’s NFL games could be in jeopardy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Would be a big pity as we're looking pretty well set up this year. I still think it'll happen though

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

Very happy with that for a week 1 performance.

    Unusually comfortable ending!

Metcalf is gonna be a top 5 WR by the end of the season

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Adams is an absolute monster. Watching defense was enjoyable again

To quote a post from Reddit:

    30/34. 319 yds. 4 TD's, 0 int. 145 Rating.

    Russell.

    ****ing.

    Wilson.

Going at it hard from the straight to finally get that MVP title.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

And now for the first late game of the year!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

We really should we winning this game. Those silly penalties and the pick 6 are going to haunt the second half of the game.

And that’s surely that. Two games, two fantastic performances. You really can’t get your hopes up after 2 games, but this feels like it could be our year.
