Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Illegal dumping

    Noticed over the last couple of weeks in a green area in our estate (eastside) a rise in illegal dumping mostly household rubbish, We always had a bit, but just seems to be an increase lately. Is it happening in other areas around the city?
    Are the council doing enough to curb it or do they take it serious enough?

    There's a spot on Headford rd which was used for dumping almost every day and set on fire few times. Council have installed camera and dumping stopped. Not long after I saw rubbish dumped only mile away. One place gets shut down another one pops up.

    The biggest dumping eyesore on that road is a property they (mis)manage.

    No balls in the councils to prosecute and possibly confiscate vehicle. They instead know more about the legalities and excuses for why they can not prosecute.
    Warden calling to perpetrators and wagging finger.

    Fines wouldn’t be paid anyways and a fortune would be wasted in the courts etc trying the collect

    Then jail them or take the money for the fines from their wages/dole before they get it .

    Change law to allow surveiilance footage and confiscate vehicle.
