    Digging up footpaths in Knocknacarra?

Anyone know what's going on? Banner Construction have hoarding and traffic cones on main roads and at entrances to some estates?

Possibly Irish Water maintenance/upgrades. I see they have flagged possible supply disruptions around Cappagh Rd area tomorrow...

    I spoke to the workmen.

It's not Vodafone themselves doing the work, it seems to be at least 3 different contractors involved. Will be good for Virgin to have some competition.

Rather than asking the internet? Weirdo.

Banner construction did our estate before xmas. The manhole covers they were routing fibre into were all marked Siro.

Nope. it's Siro which is a new form of broadband delivered over the ESB electricity network. The contractors you spoke to gave you oversimplified information. You actually have the choice of quite a few resellers including Vodafone, Sky, Eir, Digiweb, Magnet and more. See the main site for details...

The folks on the broadband forum say you can check the availability of Siro and other broadband options on:
