I burnt the pancake LOL i looked out the window and everywhere was white I got so excited I ran outside only to be brought back to Earth with the sound of the smoke alarm .. 5 kids happy at the take now with their pancakes , they aren’t interested in the snow tonight as the pancakes are way more important !
How is someone expected to watch their lamp post and make pancakes at the same time?

very clear and cold here now after a mostly sunny and dry day. Could well be a frost here later with showers mostly confined to western and northern coasts.

Recent light to moderate snow flurry in South Laois - not enough to stick.

It is rather mild in Dublin.

Is there a storm coming? Doesn't feel like it.

Pegging down 4 miles outside of Tuam, just about sticking. Could be a snow day tomorrow morning.

no storm coming. A settled, dry and calm night for a change in the Dublin area and surrounding countries. Could be a frost later in the night. Tomorrow should be mostly dry too, the chance of a light shower making it into the Dublin area.

Whatever is coming down here is coming down sideways ie diagonally. Sounds solid ...so cannot be snow. The lovely thing about snow is the deep silence of it.

Extremely windy here the past hour with intermitent sleet showers, South Co Limerick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

Going by the trajectory of the showers coming across on the radar, I'm going to pick up that large clear patch extending from Galway city southeastwards. Pity, cause the temperatures here in south Laois are ripe for snow. :(

Windy and sleety evening just south of Limerick City.

If it snows, the ground is waterlogged. Doubtful if snow could stick.

Forecast 'wet bulbs' for Manorhamilton in Co. Leitrim for tonight:

    9pm: 0.8c
    12am: 0.5c
    3am: 0.6c.

    Knife edge stuff.

Dew point dropping a little here with the odd brief snow shower. I find these showers today to be very unorganised and without any real punch. Even the current shower visibly looks to be draining itself of all energy as it passes over.

I agree. That has been my own experience with the showers today also. I have looked at the radar a lot over the day (too much if the truth be told) and while it may have looked as if there were a lot of showers passing through where I was working or here at home in Mayo, they have been usually very short lived and not much more than a sleety flurry. I know that this could all change quite quickly over the next few hours, so I will wait and see what the rest of the eve brings.

Snowing here, but you are welcome to it. I'll try and blow it down towards you.

Mayo didn't do that well with showers today. Most of the way from north Mayo to south Meath and Dublin has been dry as a bone all day. I shouldn't be complaining after so much rain recently, it was nice to get a dry day after all.

most of the country is dry and clear at this stage, showers are dying back quickly to western and northern coasts.

We’re such a small country yet the showers still can’t get across to the east coast

Dont worry the showers are of mess.

From a Dublin centric perspective , shower entry at Donegal Bay in a strong NW flow gives the least land fetch and best chance of showers making it. The flow appears at it's best angle between midnight and 4am or thereabouts.
