Looks very tempting money wise but dear god it's not like they need a better chance to win millions when they have plenty.
    Hope it doesn't happen.

More golf with hopefully new venues, can't see why it would be a bad thing.

isn't it for 48 elite golfers only?

will hurt the PGA tour & European tour no doubt.

Only heard about it on the radio tbh

Kinda like the Greg Norman effort back a few years now, that lead to the WGCs.
I think we have enough with a strong PGA tour, the Majors, WGC's and selected ET events

There would be no connection to the PGA Tour though so players that sign up for the PLG would not be eligible for Major qualification. Not sure how that would play out for previous Major winners and resultant exemptions though?

Sure the US and Open are both "opens" so anyone that's a pro can qualify.
Masters is not part of any tour either.
Even the PGA is not affiliated to the PGA tour

The top 50 ranked players automatically qualify though so unless the PLG can align with the OWGR that route won't exist. Granted all players can go through the qualifiers but do you think the top 20-30 would lower themselves the do so?

They'll have to throw huge amounts of money at them to make them turn up.

Plenty not turning up in Mexico next week. The pga tour players don't like taking their passports out unless they're getting a big chunk of change.

Must break their hearts to play the open and ryder cup.

The fact is that due to the UK's tax laws on endorsements most (if not all) players make a loss by playing the Open.

It may eventually lead to the Open been played in the Republic at some stage in the future

Its similar with the very top tennis players. There is a reason why Roger Federer never plays a warm up in Uk before Wimbledon

I like parts of it but it needs more detailed info.

Sounds very much like a cash grab by the golfing elite.

Wanted to discuss and go through this in detail here but don’t quite have the time but Rory has just delivered the first nail by saying he isn’t interested in it.

Tiger didn’t give a definitive yes/no last week but hard to see him turning his back in the tour he has basically made now and made no such demands for it to change for any reason.

Reported that they have offered him 200-250 million though!!!

Check out Geoff Shackleford or nonlaying up podcast for the best info and discussions.

Rory and Tiger are the 2 biggest stars right now in Golf and if they don't get them signing up this idea is dead in the water.

It’s all driven by Phil and Arab money. So many obstacles to the supposed league, it’s farcical to think it would get up and running despite the money.
