Thanks Tusk that was a laboured ending after the rapid round earlier - delighted to claim 2nd place (highest ranking on any FG game!)

Well done Quickbeam on a deserved top spot this round.

Congrats on the Walrus The Valeyard :)

Thanks Tusk you have impeccable taste!

Jaysus, this Walrus really did not go well for me at all. :( Possibly rushed some of my choices, maybe could've spent some more time thinking about them, but I absolutely stand by Love Is a Battlefield's mega-belty chorus (also in the original post you signed off with "hit me with your best shot" and on seeing that I just had Pat Benatar stuck in my head anyway, so there was no other choice in the frame for that one aside from other Pat Benatar! :p )

Congrats on finally finishing, clear that a lot of hard work went into it and some very interesting thoughts.....along with some very dubious ones ("your one is a bit meh", in relation to TINA FÚCKING TURNER, of all people!) Looking forward to listening back on all the entries, particularly the obscure ones - I must admit I knew none of the songs submitted for that round, and had only heard of a handful of the artists.

And finally of course big congrats to Valeyard on winning this monster!

Congrats to our winner, TheValeyard! Great taste man :D

Thanks all for playing and following along.

I have learned of some super artists, and gained new favourite songs, some of which I haven't stopped singing since hearing. Namely, Fountain of Sorrow from QB, Everyday from Spook, and that one from MrK I can't remember now haha.

It was way more work than I expected, and you know how I hate work, so thanks for sticking with me while the "dauntingness" of it fell over me and caused some delays.

Thanks again for sharing and playing, and making the reveals so fun. Sorry this one wasn't quite to the standard of some others, just didn't have it in me towards the end haha :D

    Thank you and goodnight.

And in Second Place at the top we have The Wild Boys -
    Green&Red
with 26 points for Neele Ternes - Dad

    Notes:

Listen1: first few seconds had me tearing up. I don't especially like that style of singing, the way they say certain words really lazily or something, it usually annoys me but this song is nice. her voice is nice. the music is quite beautiful. lyrics are nice, overall a lovely piece of tunage. this is the type of song i'll find myself listening to for days on end and ruining for myself. which is the mark of something special for me

Listen2: Ooooh there's a bit of twinge of emotion off the bat on this one. I like it. There's a serious energy to her singing. The music captures the emotion well too. I like it. The O-O-O-O bit i'm not hugely a fan of, but she has a bit of a belt afterwards which balances that out and then straight into the next verse beautifully.

Listening back to the 1st playlist and this one just came on. Instantly hit me in the feels. my god

Ah the scores is the scores.

If I'd have scored them on a different day, or a different hour of the same day, I'm sure the scores would have been different!

proving to everyone that the first round was purely a fluke. snatching a tasty punnet of 25 whole points for Daniel Norgen - Moonshine Got Me

    Notes:

flutey intro sounds a bit medievel. followed by some strings with an interesting level composition. Bassline on the strings keeping things grounded. This feels like a music connoseiur could listen to this for days and continue to find new things going on . Oh we go bluesy now! wsn't expecting that at all. It works. Some horn in the BG. Ohh this is Smooth AF. Drum beat. Helllooooo. I'm physically feeling this right now. body is being taken for a ride here. Yes. So glad I picked this as a category. Not one bad song yet (this is the 4th). Vocals enter. Interesting. I'm into it. clicking my fingers along with that drum beat. oooh god. that growl. yesss. gimme more of thsi. Some multivocals there. dingdingding. this is right up my alley. good god yes please. wow 4 minutes in. doesn't seem like it. oh we get a bit of a bass lick there into a change in form. some push here. oh back to the verse structure. That kept me very interested. jaysus, I'll be playing that little riff as soon as i'm finnished here. Tasty. Solo here, wow, seems a bit off there tbh. kind of ruined it for me. Sounds like me trying to write a solo myself. Spoiler, i'm **** at writing solos. Jaysus that main riff tho. beauty. would like a bit of heft before we finish up please. oh, we've a choral bit here now. very nice. Getting a deep south vibe out of this. one last verse with a belt would fit so nice in here. I don't think i'd ever get bored of that riff. 10 moonshine riff video please. yeah some vocal changes there to keep it interesting, nice. Solo ruining it again unfortunately.. Very good song. Really enjoyed that now.

Listening to this again, it's an absolute banger. 25 points was well deserved! One of the few songs I regularly come back to.
