They seem to be everywhere this year (or maybe I just missed them before).

Everything from beauty stuff to bloody pork scratching lol and prices from a fiver to several hundred euro...

Looking more specifically at the M&S one, we are away and my wife wont get to a store until the middle of this week. They are already showing as sold out online, has anyone seen a good supply in any store?

They were only released on Thursday last and seems they are nearly sold out already.

No problem buying online yesterday and loads left in the Clonmel M&S. Where in the country are you?

Blanch had loads on Friday, not sure how stock is after the weekend though.

Yeah heard online was ok yesterday but sold out by today.

Am in Dublin, we are abroad till late Tuesday so hoping city centre has some left by Wednesday...otherwise she may need to think of another one (no shortage of options by the looks). Can't really ask someone to get one before we get back as you need to spend €30 to qualify to buy.

On a side note are advent calendars bigger this year than the previous years? Seems there's absolutely every possible type of ones now.

They are like this every year. High end beauty calendars have been around for well over 10 years at this stage- that's just my estimate though!

A lot of them, like the No. 7 calendars, will sell out by early/mid November.

They are definitely getting more popular and diverse though year after year- I haven't seen the pork scratching one before I came across it online last week, actually. And the gin and wine calendars fly out of the shops too!

Have definitely become more popular over the years. When I was young, the only ones I remember were the traditional ones with chocolate in them. Now you seem to be able to get them in pretty much everything.

We bought the wooden train one in Lidl at the weekend. Elf2 is obsessed with trains at the minute so going to fill it with health treats for him.

  • I have gotten my first beauty Advent calendar! My first Advent calendar of any kind (other than chocolate) in fact and I'm absolutely busting with excitement!!! My mum was in the UK visiting her cousin and they got me the m&s one. I'm so happy. It was so nice of them. Had to leave it in my mams house until the end of the month because I'm a total child and can't be trusted not to open it! :D

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!!

I admire your restraint! I opened mine straight away. Although my rationale is that I want to try some of the sample sized skincare products in it, so I can decide if I want to purchase them full sized if they're on sale after Christmas.
Also I have zero self control...

I just noticed there that I never included a link to the one's with the crib.

There are also nice religious advent calendars in Veritas, aimed at children, showing a variety of crib scenes.

They have an advent calendar made of wood depicting the Nativity that you fill yourself, if you like the idea of combining the real meaning of Christmas with chocolate. :)

Got this Niederegger praline and marzipan advent calendar. Has a total of 43 items in 32 doors (goes up to New Year's Day).

The first one arrived damaged so they sent me a second one for free. :)
