Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

How to collect Leap Card Travel Credit

    Hi folks

    Recently i got a leap card to use on dublin bus, i topped up in a shop when i bought it with 10 euro, that ran out and as i have an iphone and can’t get an app for it i topped up by a tenner using the leap card website but the problem is the money hasn’t hit my card, its saying collection point leap card top up app?? But I don’t have an app as it’s an iphone which doesn’t support the app!! Any suggestions on where else i can get my credit?

    The topup app also sends it to pay zone shops and luas stops/TVMs.

    The card can only be topped up through usage.

    if you check the balance of your card in a shop it will top up.

    So walk into shop and ask person on till can you check the balance on that please .... your credit is applied. But its just as easy to get the person in the shop to do the topping up in future.

    Can you collect top ups on the Leap card app if you use an NFC phone? Doesn't need to be own phone to use the app.

    Incorrect, the Leap top-up app tops up the card immediately through NFC, the credit does not need to be collected. However, due to Apple restrictions, the app is only available on Android.

    OP, see the section What is a Load Location? for places where you can collect your credit. Alternatively, any android phone with the app can top up any card, it's not linked to a specific Leap card

    You can. When it first came out that wasn't possible but I've gotten onto the bus in the past without realising I was out of credit, topped up, and tagged on when the driver pulled into the next stop.

    They selected the app as where to collect it. That also sends the topup out to luas and payzone.
