First time taxi insurance

    Can anyone suggest a company that gives new drivers insurance on a taxi for the first time?

    I have a taxi sitting outside, long story, and want to work it. I've no taxi insurance history.

    I know that a lot of firms have pulled out of the taxi insurance game. This along with the general random price hikes have made quotes beyond a joke. Axa, Allianz, Liberty and I think RSA are the only ones taking on policies but unless they will take on your NCB then be prepared to pay thousands.

    I was talking to a driver recently. He paid 4500 and been driving years.

    My insurance started at 3000 12 years ago, with no claims over the years I had it down to 700 fully comp. I still have no claims and am now paying 3000 3rd party f+t! It's nothing short of legalised robbery

    - report suspect claims

    - ask your TD why are whiplash awards twice the level in the UK.

    - why is whiplash unknown in countries that don't give compo for it

    - etc.

    Thats all well and good, but I find our TDs about as useless as a shell on a cracked egg. Shower of me feiners.

    How did you got sorted the insurance, on a rented or own vehicle?
    Need some advice/info about please.

    I'm renting and got insurance through AXA(the cab owner has to arrange it)
    Do you have full private NCB no points etc?
    Expect a rather large bill!

    How much could i expect as a named driver if so?
    Will the bonus count that way?
    Have myself 5+ ncb on private car, full clean licence over 10 years.

    Try https://www.firstireland.ie/ or https://bjp.ie/ - as a frirst timer, i know they where asking for min.5 years full Irish licence and 5 years ncb on private policy in order to get a fair price of 6 and a half grand for the first timers!

    Can anyone give a rough idea of the difference in price for taxi insurance 4 pasangers vs 6 passangers? I understand numbers varies depending on personal circumstances, just trying to get un idea..
