    And guess what?

    We were ignored.

    No real surprises there, then.

As you said bar a few small exceptions, where licenses have to be applied for, the three new general licenses are almost identical to the ones removed.

Once again it shows that those that bang the table and shout the loudest are not necessarily the best ones to listen to (chris packham). The harm, damage and anger this caused and for what? It was a solution to a non existent problem and once again shows education is not a sign of intelligence.

To be honest, I'm surprised Gove made such a decision in the middle of a leadership battle.
Suppose it shows what demographic he reckons will be most beneficial to him.
Never rated him as Min of Ag.

He hasn't a chance. First vote i seen today has Boris on 114, Gove on 47 and the rest in twenties, and low teens.

The shooting community in the UK is in the region, a guess based on low ago read information, of 3 million. Now while they're population is 60+million compared to our 4.8 the number of shooters/fieldsports persons is in the 5% mark compared to our 2.9% and that is not even counting other groups, and farmers, that could add to that percentage.

Its the same old story. Bowing to the moral outrage until they realise those shouting the loudest are virtue signaling and know feck all about what they are protesting whereas the other half not only know but put the food on the screamers tables.

I know he hasn't a chance, but Boris could find it hard to make appreciable gains on the 30 odd % he's already got.
Gove was an absolute tit in his assessment of Brexits effects on farmers, I believe.
(also, Bringing in a law that allows you sack a teacher who ever took drugs, and then expecting to be PM after a bit of experimentation himself shows a typical arrogance and disconnect)

Keeping him away fro microphones and interviews seem to be doing the trick :D

That was damage control and getting ahead of a story. I guarantee you that was coming out in some article or expose and he decided to dampen the shock by announcing it himself before the story broke.

Still, play stupid games, win stupid prizes or maybe people in glass houses is a better analogy.

Shooting crowd in the UK have only themselves to blame .. I remember Sporting Gun used to award £15 for people who sent in photos of them selves and big (enormous sometimes) bags of pigeons. They’ve promoted mass shooting of pigeons and crows for decades over there, Fieldsports Britain kept it up and god knows what on Facebook. I personally can see why they got into this mess, they were arrogant enough to think they can do what they want in the name of crop protection without any regulation, it was only a matter of time before some smart a*rse anti found a loop to stop the lot. It should be a lesson to us to self regulate, because we sure don’t want the antis regulating for us.

I fail to see a problem. Pigeons are an agricultural pest, and despite the masses of them shot, their numbers have increased. Not doing something in case it offends the anti's, or the urban greenies, is pointless, no matter what you do they are going to be offended, so tip on regardless.

    Hah.

Seems his virtue signaling, like all others, has a price tag.

'But Tom Adams, MD of the British Game Alliance said their plans are highly problematic for rural people.

“Such ludicrous ideas would be the end of shooting, a community that puts £2.5 billion back into the UK economy and creates 75,000 jobs,” he said.

“The ramifications of what Wild Justice are suggesting for rural people and the land managed for shooting would be cataclysmic.”

Ms Bedell added: “This is another extremist attack on shooting by those associated with the League Against Cruel Sports that ignores the well-documented evidence of the benefits of shooting to conservation and the wider environment.'

Mr Packham is storing up a world of woe for himself, that's for sure. Add to that that he has a smug little face that you couldn't just smack once.

Its crazy to think that people like Packham, who are so into nature can do this, knowing the benefits of shoots with reguards habitat and conservation. What negative effects so pheasants have on an environment? Seriously, stop the crap!!

Just look at our own country, where there are limited numbers of shoots. There is a lot of featureless land with little wildlife.

Back to Wild Justice, at what stage did Packham and his followers put conservation on the back burner, and focus more on this agenda, no matter what the cost.

Doesn’t surprise me one bit,it was fox hunting then it was badgers and then
he didn’t get his way on ban of shooting of pests,so it’s onto the next agenda,(probably deer stalking next)and when that falls through it’ll be onto something else,he’s at his happiest causing disruption shouting it from the top of his media outlet milk crate all in the name of “animal welfare”

And blathering on about his aspergers

If he objects so vehemently against the breeding and release (and ultimate shooting) of non indigenous breeds, eill he take on the NFU and farmers in general?
Probably 80% of cattle farmed in the UK are of foreign breeds.
Holstein and Friesian cows are Dutch/German and Canadian/Americian breeds, the beef industry is predominately French breeds, Charolais, Limousin, Simmental, Blonde Aquitane, Belgium Blues from Belgium and a bit of Piedmontese from Italy.
Are these next on his list?
What about migratory birds, should we shoot on sight Swallows, House Martins etc to keep our bird populations pure ?
I think he knows how those battles would go...

Scary now that we have two people with Aspergers being held up as the new saints of how to improve the World by going on crusades against the "eco sinners"...Packham and St Gerta Thunberg the Good from Sweden.

The last two more than likely Aspergers sufferers who got into crusade mode.Stephen of Cloyes and Nicholas of Cologne led the Childerns crusade....That ended quite badly for everyone.
