Can they share a seat belt?

You need to look at something like this
    https://www.multimac.com/home

I think what you are describing would be illegal and dangerous

Its not legal or safe as a everyday system. Each child would need a individual seat belt, so a booster only system would not be legal. You could try to get a double seat + system (^^^) which has independant harnesses.

It isn't intended for everyday use but for two fairly long drives (two lots of nieces and nephews).

    But illegal is illegal.

I will think of something else.

Are you trying to fit 4 kids and 2 adults, you'll need a 6 seater or 7 seater.
If your on a tight budget a Honda FRV will seat 6 and set you back €590

The 4 across multimac would be illegal here as the number of seats is on registration documents

I honestly hope this is a joke but each and every occupant needs a safety belt....

Fiat multipla or basically any 7 seater will do....

It's a car seat which is fitted over the existing back seat and is fixed in with the existing seatbelt system with individual harness restraints. Are you saying the seat would not pass or that the issue is that the car would end up with an aditional passenger?

The car would be over it's registered maximum passengers. If you've nobody in the front seat and child small enough to fit in that
can go in a child seat on the front passenger seat with airbags disabled anyway

The 3 across will have the same issues in smaller cars registered for 4. I own an actual 4 door with only 4 - uncommon of course. It has dual isofix anyway
