Song rx100 lense error

    Hi there,

    Camera just over a year old and getting this error, which seems to be common, saying to power off and on again.

    Means can't use camera. Did the whole take out battery, press power for 30 seconds lark and still not working.

    Camera was 300e or something and always looked after.

    There are some YouTube videos about opening up the camera, which I am uneasy about, but what does one do?

    The open and separate the two parts method seems to not reliably fix it.
    What did work: bend a small sewing pin at about 30 degree angle1/2" from point. Then, with lens cover open, gently insert into track that cover slides in, and drag lightly around. This must have dislodged a piece of debris, and it works great!

    Definitely a weak point of the camera though!

    Maybe try this method?

    After that sell it for spares or repair.
