Hi everyone quick question. Fares to New York for first week of Easter school holidays 2020 are currently roughly €500. Should I buy now or hold out a few months? What would you do??

I wouldn't really expect to get them much cheaper during easter holidays. Can you afford to pay €600?

€500 return to NY is pretty decent esp in the Easter holidays and unlikely to be beaten by any direct flights in the interim, unless you go indirect Norwegian or similar, where you might get it cheaper. I'd book it myself.

If the carbon taxes go up in next budget you can bet it won’t be 500 euro after October. The begining of the end for flight travel :-/

I booked a return from Snn - Ewr on United earlier this week. €300 for basic economy. I paid €380 to include a checked in bag. Great value I thought.

    p.s. Travelling in mid Sept.

Was that the special €100 off offer from Aer Lingus? I got Dublin-Miami for the same in September.

No, it's with United per his post :pac:

There'll be no if about it after the Greens today.

They aren't in Government and the existing carbon tax structures do not affect aviation anyway so a simple increase won't do anything

Correct, but the way the results have gone will force the Gov (panic) into doing something, Cuffe is already demanding carbon tax's be introduced ASAP.
