I was surprised they put such a strict vegan, with a meat lover, the guy says he don't eat veg, otherwise they would have been a great match, but I can see both sides,
She would be better off with a vegan
She did say her three dogs are vegan also

I think that was the whole point Goat. (edit. the point of them being polar opposites with their food choices)
    he handled himself well though.
he just laughed it off and stuck to what he likes himself.
It was a pity because I liked them together

The girl reeling off all the counties was cringe. That's something that a 9 year old does.

Your "treat". I think that word is a misnomer. You didn't make the dinner or have anything to do with the making of it, other people did.

You paid for it, great. It's not like everyone has the same financial means.

Jesus you want to make a mountain out of anything.

How do you know someone's a vegan? They tell you.

If I don't eat fish, I don't go around telling people I don't eat fish.

Being vegan is a dietary choice, not a lifestyle like they try to make it out like! You always see vegans putting up on tinder or instagram how they're vegan. I don't see people doing that for other things.

Vegans remind me of that IPhone joke from years ago.

Just watched it having read the thread 1st, don’t get the hate for the Insta girl, they got on well, had a few dates, she got a job elsewhere, unfortunate- these things happen

    it's actually the opposite Pussy.

Plant based, is the dietary choice.
Veganism is a philosophy and a way of living.
It's much deeper than a way of eating. That is why so many vegans will mention it at some point. It means a lot to them.

Although it's not really a good idea to criticize someone on their meal on a first date.
The same way as if you were health conscious, you shouldn't criticize the big greasy burger your date orders.

If your life values don't match up, just simply don't date them again and move on.
Or be VERY clear before the date, that that is not what you would like in a dater.

People aren't annoying "because they are vegan" or "because they are personal trainers."

Similar to the guy a few episodes back whose 'passion' was politics. Didn't matter that the girl had no interest, but he would constantly steer the conversation back towards his own particular passion/obsession.

yeah i'm not sure how I feel about that one myself.
believe me, it's a hot topic even within the vegan community whenever that is brought up.
    guaranteed uproar

Whatever about dogs, I believe they could survive a vegan diet, why someone would do that is beyond me.
But if they mentioned doing that to a cat, it will kill them!

    There are vegan cats too:D

There shouldn't be. Cats are obligate carnivores and will suffer hugely on a vegan diet.

Reminds me of that idiot who had a fennec fox as a pet (stupid idea 1) and was feeding it a vegan diet (stupid idea 2). The poor thing was literally wasting away in front of her and she refused point blank to change its diet.

I've no issue with veganism but idiots like yer woman who force their diet on carnivore or omnivore animals give me so much rage.

I've no issue with vegans if they'd just shut up about it. We get it, you don't eat meat, once you don't fly and undo all that good work, knock yourself out.

Yeah exactly. Just order the ****ing veggies off the menu. Don't harp on that you don't like the menu because there's so much meat on it.

If I walked in and had been paired with a vegan, I'd probably have got up and walked straight up to the camera and said "we're not meeting again".

Surely that would be "we're not meating again". :D

You couldn't even say "nice to meet you" at the start before they'd retort "I'm vegan".....

I was browsing facebook earlier and a link from rte of the show 2 weeks ago came up. It was showing a clip from John (the showbands guy) and his date. He was actually posting in the comment section himself!

unfortunately they never met up a second time he said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,436 ✭✭✭dartboardio

A girl i know through facebook is vegan (fine) but posted a screenshot of her tracking down farmers on donedeal that were selling equipment for cattle etc and harassing them with comments like 'they belong with their mother... Do you realise what you are doing etc'

Literally going looking for trouble. Lost respect for her after that. Thought vegans would be the first ones to say respect others wishes.

Distance was an issue there, wasn't it?
I don't get why they match people from opposite ends of the country.
    It makes little sense.
Well and good if it's your own choice with online dating.

    Paddy and Selma.

The 52-year old sister looks far better than the 37-year old. More natural anyway.
