Haha, next you'll be declaring that smash is not mashed spuds.

They’re so yummy when you come home from the pub. McCains or Aunt Bessie’s only though.

I'd love to have the patience to cook roasties after the pub. I usually just get a takeaway as I'm so lazy :pac:

your roast spuds sound like fried spuds, lovely too, but you roast roast spuds.

preheat the oven, or not, depending how pushed i am, rummage around the freezer for the bag of roast spuds, pop them in the oven, wait some time, time can be used to get the gravy ready, (can explain how to make gravy too). remove from oven and put on plate, cover with loads of gravy.

I wouldn’t consider a bag of frozen roasties as roast spuds for the Christmas dinner.

I also preheat the oven for my roasties.

Oh and sometimes I’ll put some cheese on the mash and bake them to keep them warm.

If its a potato and you roast it, its technically a roast potatos in fairness.

Cooking spuds in pre-heated oil is frying. I see now that you oven cook them, so yeah, i was envisioning your pre-heated goose fat being heated in a pan.

As said, I like me some fried spuds too, nothing against them either.

    Oooh that sounds yummy.

I normally eat cold turkey and ham that night or the next day with salad stuff. Might be a nice addition. Piccalilli is also a MUST at Christmas.

You harlot, you're making me drool.

Who's with me for crashing sully's christmas dinner? You can squeeze a few more in, right Sully?

    Mash > Roasts

But either is alright. I'm not stereotypically Irish in many ways, but I do love my spuds any which way you care to provide them.

Christmas for me is whatever's on hand to make, tbh. I don't do anything special. My only plans for the day are attending a parkrun, and that's it.

    A few rules:
    - stretch or starve: there’ll be no serving done. Food in the middle, dig in.
    - dress code: casual casual. Meat pants required. Festive jumpers preferred. Nobody in anything with buttons will be admitted.

Turkey crown for 8-12 ordered. There’s 4 of us currently. Plenty of space. Pull up a seat!

Aldi specially selected one is arriving in store on 20th dec. It’s by far and away the best out there. It sells out quickly.

Follow the cooking instructions, but replace 500ml of the water with a can of Guinness.

    A sambo for the 27th:
Fresh bread (I’ll bake a brown loaf/pan in the morning), Brie, red onion relish, spiced beef, iceberg lettuce.

You cook it yourself? I’ve just seen it in the SuperValu magazine and thought you bought it like you’d buy a packet of ham.

    AND THEN

your next paragraph goes on to say you are baking your own bread!

    I am in awe, missy.

You can get it in a pack but I make it.

I cook everything for Christmas dinner from scratch.

I actually cook most things generally from scratch. No jars of sauce get used. This evening I made chipotle chicken that was marinaded and baked in a peanut butter, adobe chilli and garlic rub, with wraps and guac.

We have a bread machine so it’s usually just throw in the ingredients and leave it be. Usually use it to make pizza dough. But will make bread over Christmas so that I don’t have to get dressed and go to the shop.

That’s where I went, flipside. Burgers were seriously good. We both ordered a side of fries as it was our first time there but I’d suggest getting a side between you.

Park on abbey street or jfk parade.
