I ended up with Denver and Tennessee both winning out, and finishing 10-6.
Green Bay also have a lot of winnable games.

It'd suggest that the whole franchise is awful moreso than just the head coach.
Having said that I know that if a player did that to me he'd pay for it big time.

Not sure why we're all getting Pittsburgh necessarily, they haven't done anything to persuade me they're a playoff team but I guess on each head to head I'm just still not ready to believe in the Browns!

Their schedule is handy except for Saints away.

vs Chargers - Tough but I back them to win at home.
    @ Raiders - :D
vs Patriots - See Chargers, plus the Pats have been terrible in some road games this year.
    @ Saints - That's a loss bar an upset.
    vs Bengals - :D

On another note, I had to blink when I saw 13-3 written beside the Bears.

AP shouldn't really be associated with the others mentioned by you. What he did was awful in my opinion but it was corporal punishment.
The others beat women. None of them should be in the NFL imo.

I would be blinking pretty hard if I saw that too. There's no game, not even the Rams, that the bears can't win, but if they ran the table I'd be absolutely flabbergasted. 11-5 would be great (beat giants, Packers, and niners), 12-4 would be amazing (beat the Vikings away), but to go undefeated...yeah not happening imo

Yeah, Josh is the name. That was shady from the Giants though. Sounded like they knew about it but it wasn't public knowledge so they let it slide. Not a good look.

As for AP. He beat his 4 year old son's legs and testicles with a switch, and only two weeks admitted to still beating him. At the time, he claimed he would never do it again.

I can't understand how it keeps getting glossed over.

I wasn't aware that he did it since that time.

Actually surprised how mine turned out, hadn't thought INDY were still in the running at all, but ended up 4th on my AFC list.

Its amazing what the masses get outraged over and don't, rightly or wrongly. There must be some catalyst, like does it have to get picked up by Good Morning America to get extreme outrage from the masses. I presume a lot of issues get old after awhile and are less interesting to report about. "Oh another woman beater in the NFL, well that's just old hat". Although in today's #MeToo climate you'd think the Jameis Winston Uber incident should have been bigger news but it was kinda a minor headline. I guess the markets the teams play in are an important factor too. But honestly, I've no idea what the answer is. As the strength of the NFL's punishments are strongly correlated with the amount of outrage the public expresses, it would be a worthwhile thesis for NFL agents to undertake to help control their client's stories.

Only found out today that Mike McCarthy was chosen over Sean Payton for the job at Green Bay back in '06. Could you imagine Aaron Rodgers and Sean Payton together all these years?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,510 ✭✭✭Hazys

The stat that's doing the rounds at the moment, is that Aaron Rodgers is 0-37 when going into the 4th Qtr, losing by a point or more against a winning record team.

I know he has similar 4th quarter comebacks numbers as Ryan Tannehill but that stat is pretty crazy.

I don't think any of them should be lumped in together. Afair the allegation against Brown was that grabbed his partner (or maybe wife) by the wrist really hard and in so doing he scratched her, AP beat a child with a switch. I wouldn't say Brown is definitely worse.

You need to read up on Josh Brown.

Oh very possibly, I can't pretend I avidly followed his case or that of AP.

You have a link to convictions or findings made? Thanks.

Talking about a video needed to get the outrage going:

    http://www.tmz.com/2018/11/30/kc-chiefs-kareem-hunt-attacked-kicked-woman-surveillance-video/

Kareem's kick was not that forceful but she was on the ground gathering herself after being knocked down is so cowardly. The anger and aggression towards the woman and his past history with women*, I can't imagine what would have happened if there weren't several people holding him back (not to mention how many opportunities he had to just walk away)...Hunt is a complete and utter scumbag.

    *confused him with Tyreek Hill

The Chiefs clearly have questionable morals when it comes to players actions so they'll likely do nothing. The one thing the NFL doesn't like is to people to actually see these incidents so he's in serious trouble.

No I don't but his ex said there were multiple episodes.

Whilst i did the same thing...

Still, that was absolutely ****. How is it so hard, y'know, to not beat other people, and that's before we dial down into the scumbaggery of beating women!

So this happened in February and apparently he wasn't honest about things back then. Now a video comes out and he is cut by the Chiefs immediately.

Consider me suspicious. I don't for one moment believe that the Chiefs, or any other franchise, wouldn't investigate this fully at the time they became aware of it and get their hands on any footage of the incident.

Yeah, Ray Rice syndrome all over again. Such absolute transparent hypocrisy as always, nothing has been learned at all in the intervening years. It's all just about PR, never a thought about what's right.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,510 ✭✭✭Hazys

Very surprised that the Chiefs would release him. Thought he would get a 6 game suspension and that would be the end of it. He’s definitely getting picked up on waivers, especially since Foster got picked up unless I’m underestimating the difference a video makes

You are. Players have beat the women before but Ray rice knocked her cold on camera and thus ended rice

This is where the NFL should step in. He should get a 2 year suspension, setting the tone. Don't allow teams to pick him up. If the owners would just "collude" to ensure guys like this are never picked up, it would make a huge difference than just heading to a new team.
And I would say it's more than likely that the NFL had access to the tape all along; much like the Ray Rice incident.

He'll do well next season when the Redskins sign him.
