Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Hedging Waterford area

    Does anybody know, the best places to buy hedging plants around the Waterford area? Garden Centre or commercial. Looking for privet, escallonia, fuschia etc, nothing too extravagant. Looking for various sizes, (Live on a slope). Want it to grow as one.

    Might be worth trying Easter Island on the Lacken road. Their facebook page is fairly useless and the website is down as well but they are a nursery so are possibles.

    I can highly recommend the Orchardstown Garden Centre, a left turn after the Holy Cross pub going out of town. A lovely family-run site and very helpful.

    Would avoid escalloni if its large area. They grow fast initially, but are a lot of work to maintain.

    yea id second this, disaster when they take off. id recommend easter island as well

    Like the posters above, can only agree with escalonia not being a good choice,i took 150 meters of it out two weeks ago and replaced... nightmare... gets hit with frost and finds it difficult to recover
