Taute was awful in the last appearance against Cardiff, he looked off the pace. I would be shocked if he gets into the 23 over the next two games.
Agreed, thought he was well off the pace. Goggin, scannell and Goggin deserve to be in the 23. Scannell will start, and will be vital to take some of the pressure off carbery especially if Williams is at 9.

agreed. And have Goggin on standby in case there's an injury

Is Stringer covering the match for TV? Can we stick a grey scrum cap on him and pretend he's Williams?

Also, I'm finding it hard to get my head around the infatuation with Murray's injury. Just read a Scottish Daily Mail article, retweeted by Simon Thomas from Wales Online (that absolute rag). I'm not sure why anyone is actually owed an explanation and continuous updates.

There's probably a few whispers floating around because of the wording of an Indo article a few months ago

Just read same article. It's some amount of guff . There's no obligation for players to reveal medical information.

    Madness.

The Scottish Daily Mail fella wasn't keen to put on his Colombo jacket and tinfoil hat when they had their shenanigans on a night out a while back!

Of course there's not - but it's wildly unrealistic for them to withhold the info and expect everyone to just say, "fair enough, sure we'll see you when we see you so".

It's a World Cup year, Murray is crucial to Ireland, even more crucial to Munster, he's apparently lining up a big-money contract and the last person to go down this route never played again.

The questions aren't going to stop, they're going to get louder.

edit: and if you read the Daily Mail, well... you've only yourself to blame

I see the usual click bait sites are out with the linking of Murray being in Paris over the weekend with a move to Racing..

    http://rugbylad.ie/hell-going-conor-murray-not-talking-injury/

Given that he is probably in contract talks at the moment (or should be based on past timelines) then i'd start with thinking of it as some level of gamesmanship from him with worst case being he is considering a move (he hasn't ruled it out in the past).

Or could just be visiting Zebo. But yeah could be angling for better contract. If so not the most subtle of things to do but gotta do what ya gotta do sure

Well yeah people will be curious. But it's a big jump to believe anyone has right to know this info which I've seen lot of reporters say outside of DM. Similar article in Indo not so long ago. Basically journalists noses are out of joint because they know as little as the average punter. Who they supposedly believe deserve to know this information

On Murray’s injury, I’ve heard a ridiculous rumor that I wouldn’t repeat as I’m full sure it’s nonsense but I wonder have some ragtime journos heard this type of nonsense and are fishing and poking looking for a story (that doesn’t exist).

If there was any club you want to see Murray hanging around at it's Racing. They have the first choice French scrum half on their books and there is no way Murray is going to over there to play second fiddle.

He's right, tho. Even if Murray would be first choice, why would Racing be paying for 2 top drawer 9's? Especially when they're both the same age.

Also especially when there's a good chance* of them both going missing in international windows.

*The chance of Murray continuing to play for Ireland if he moves to France is still there until somebody says it isn't.

I'm hearing that Murray wants to leave to cash in in France straight after the World Cup and the IRFU aren't happy and they're not allowing him to play

May be well off but I think Jesse Kriel is coming over in the end of October/start of November to Limerick (just know it through work).. Why though i'm not sure but it might be something to consider.

I'd imagine if Munster are lining him up he'd be coming in as back 3. Not sure Munster have much need at centre with numerous 10's that can cover there, Taute, Farrel, Arnold, Goggin and Scannell.

Even the back three wouldn't make much sense given they've just signed Haley. Earls, Conway and Sweetnam are all going well too. He'd be a boost to any side but Munster's need is at tighthead and scrumhalf.

I'd be fairly confident we'll see Matthewson's stay being extended, though. He could be in Limerick for a couple of years, I reckon.
