An Exeter friend is looking to come over for the Munster game. Is there a any kind of online guide to Limerick - accommodation and good beer venues, etc - for away rugby fans? Do MSP have something?

A lot of things depend on your budget really. I find the Clarion or the Strand to be good but often dearer than other options youd get in the place. I've stayed in a B&B by Thomond Park and it was ideal really. Limerick is not that big that you cannot easily get around.

Bring a spare pair of trousers.

When it happens you'll know why.

The other pair have gotten stuck to the sofa in Costello's?

Limerick is.... interesting. Make sure you have solid directions to and From Thomond. No scenic route.

It's pretty difficult to take a 'scenic route' from the city centre to TP. And even if you did it's a lot safer than walking through parts of the city centre in Dublin.

Curragower is a nice spot that's closeish to Thomond for drinks and food. For a cold evening you can try the small Flannery's near the train station. Open fire! :)

They could post on the Munster thread here on Boards with specific questions, keep an eye on MFs. or try Limerick.ie

JJ Bowles Pub after the match, dont be put off by the queues to get in, loads of space down the back and if you get in at the right time, black pudding handed out. The Guinness/Beamish is one of the best in the city.
