    Colombia v Japan

Simple as..I don't see anything other than a win for Colombia who look like a good side against another Asian team - a confederation I simply just don't rate. Just backed a straight win and will maybe do a goalscorer bet in the afternoon once line-ups are confirmed. I have only just noticed that Boyles (as well as Ladbrokes) do double odds on FGS if scored in the first twenty minutes.

    Colombia €20 @ 3/4

EDIT: Added a scorer bet. Also another match where I back a match result early and price drifts. Colombia almost at evens now.

    Radamel Falcao 1st goal €8 @ 7/2

Well I got that one badly wrong....

    Poland v Senegal

Fancied taking on Poland and thought Mane was a nice price and read a tips site which agreed so stealing their bets. All in. All staked so one in gives tiny profit.

    Senegal or draw €50 @ 6/10
    Sadio Mane anytime goal €22.46 @ 5/2
    2-2 draw €4.62 @ 16/1

Horrible odds for the Senegal/ draw bet.

Just the one winner so no real profit worth talking about. Although I believe Mane should have scored at 2-0 and obviously at 2-1 it couldn't have been closer to correct score. Oh well.

    Portugal v Morocco

Despite being European Champions, Portugal are a team I have just never warmed to apart from their obvious superstar. When winning the Euros in 2016 they only won one game in 90 minutes although they did win 9/10 in qualifying in what was a weak group apart from Switerland. Since then they’ve played eight friendlies and drawn half and have only beaten Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Algeria. Morocco have been beaten once in their last fifteen (admittedly against weak enough opposition) and haven’t conceded more than one in any of those games so think they’ll be tough to beat. Small enough stakes.

    Draw €6 @ 5/2
    1-1 €3 @ 6/1

EDIT: Added FGS @ 12/5 as there's a refund if Spain win

Update for day. Uruguay bet was a bad one in hindsight. Busy at work and rushing to get something on without looking at it in any way. Just realised I never mentioned stake for Costa FGS...€20.

    Denmark v Australia

Think Denmark are solid enough favourites here and worth a bet at odds against but decided to go for something longer. Despite hammering us at the Aviva in November they have actually only scored a dozen times in last ten games (including that one). But do think they are well capable of a clean sheet if they go in front as proved against Peru.

    Christian Eriksen anytime scorer €7 @ 9/4
    1-0 to Denmark €4.04 @ 5/1

    France v Peru

I liked Peru against Denmark and thought they were unlucky to lose. But I think the way they play could run right into France's hands and there could be goals in this one but they should have their own chances too. I'm a bit of a Giroud fan, think he's a good player to bring off the bench when looking for a goal and as he starts I'll take a shot with him.

    Olivier Giroud anytime scorer €7 @ 2/1
    France to win 3-1 €1.23 @ 16/1

Hmmm, not sure if Mbappe stole Giroud's goal or if it would have gone down as an OG anyway but either way both bets are losers.

Hmmm, a bit annoyed by my picks there. I said I like Croatia and after first game I thought Argentina would be in trouble at some point but still didn't see that performance or result coming. Interested to see prices on Nigeria when they face Argentina. Won't bet now as I want to see Nigeria again first.

    Germany v Sweden

I'm not overly confident of a German win here after their first game. However, as I have them backed outright I can't quite bring myself to back the draw which will mean they're out if Mexico and Sweden play out a draw in the final round of games.

    Timo Werner anytime goal €18.03 @ 11/10

Another loser but glad I didn't go with draw. A third injury time goal in four games to beat me would have been a kick in the balls.
