Just to confirm the FT Joe McDonagh scores:

    Carlow 3-21 1-21 Westmeath
    Antrim 1-20 2-21 Kerry
    Laois 3-23 0-14 Meath

    Final table:
    Carlow 8 (H2H)
    Westmeath 8
    Kerry 6
    Laois 4
    Antrim 4 (Lose H2H)
    Meath 0

As Kerrydude says, but for injury-time freezes, Kerry could have pushed for the final, but Carlow and Westmeath have certainly been the most consistent performers.

I think if that B football championship ever comes into place we will see highlights of the games on The Sunday Game

Different rules apply to the lower tier football teams when it comes to the media

Cant wait till they show the highlights of the lower tier hurling competitions

Cue Des Cahill saying to the pundits "Isnt it great lads to see a team like [insert team here] getting a big day out in Croke Park"

    First Christy Ring semi:

    Wicklow 2-14 2-28 London

    Nicky Rackard Cup:

    Donegal 4-22 1-10 Monaghan
    Warwickshire 1-25 1-14 Tyrone

    Lory Meagher:

    Cavan 4-15 0-15 Sligo
    Lancashire 1-19 0-9 Fermanagh

    Sligo 4
    Lancashire 4
    Cavan 3
    Fermanagh 1

So, as expected, a Lancashire v Sligo final.

Does anyone know what the pairing system is for the Joe McDonagh finalists vs 3rd placed Leinster / Munster teams? Is it a draw or are the parings already made?

Carlow vs Kilkenny would be quite novel.

    Open draw, I'd imagine.

According to this, Munster 3rd place plays the winner, Leinster 3rd place plays runner up

And I think it will swap each year then. So in 2019 it will be Munster 3rd place plays the runner-up, and Leinster 3rd place plays the winner. I definitely remember something about swapping around the draw when they first announced the new championship format

    Christy Ring SF FT:

    Kildare 3-18 2-13 Derry

The two highest-ranked counties (going by League position) qualify for the final.

Does it say a lot about some lower tier hurling counties that in 3 finals there are teams not even from the 32 countries of Ireland in it ???

I'm sure the squads of Warwickshire, London and Lancashire are made up of ex pats who prob player hurling at club level at home in Ireland

Great win for Donegal, hugely enjoyable performance from them in the second half. Fair play to TG4 for streaming those games, not often that I get to see the hurlers, they hit some wonderful scores

Antrim comfortably retain Joe McDonagh status, defeating Kildare 3-23 to 1-17. That said, surely the six-team group works better in terms of scheduling, rather than the problems we've seen in Munster and Leinster with five-county formats?

What's the reasoning behind what their doing? Very hard on Kildare yet again.
