Surprisingly, Kerry had a 10-point win over Laois today, 3-20 to 0-19. Meath suffer a second hammering, Westmeath winning 4-24 to 2-17.

No offence to Kerry, but what in the name of jebus is going on in Laois?

We thought they'd put us to pin of collar in last league game which was crucial for both teams, but it was over after 10 minutes,

Someone here mentioned my not referring to Laois as potential McDonagh winners.

    The prosecution rests my lord!

Mighty win yesterday, last time I saw our lads that fired up was against Laois two years ago in a league game in Tralee, won well that evening as well

Should have won by more yesterday, missed two great goal chances in the first half

Staying at this level is key for us,we have a lot of young players coming through that actually want to hurl for Kerry and are putting in a serious effort

Had to laugh yesterday the Sunday game panel, they were saying it was a pity that RTE didnt show the New York Leitrim game last week,

How about showing some action from the lower tier hurling competitions

So, Kildare and Wicklow already guarantee their progress to the Christy Ring semis, as do Warwickshire in the Nicky Rackard if H2H applies.

    Draw here in Brewster.

Was a very enjoyable end to the game.
Fermanagh should've had it won though.

Bit of a hoodoo now with the senior hurlers and Cavan.

Hopefully we get the win over Westmeath today, would put us in a good position going into the Meath game

    Westmeath will be tough though

So the Clare lad that scored 4-12 out of 4-19 for Louth last year against Longford didn’t show so hence Longford’s win yesterday.

    Down 2-20 1-21 London

So Down are virtually in the Christy Ring semis, but not quite mathematically.

    Westmeath 2-12 0-15 Kerry

Which leaves the table after Rd 3

    Westmeath 6
    Antrim 4
    Carlow 4
    Kerry 2
    Laois 2
    Meath 0

It's looking good for Westmeath now to make the McDonagh Cup final and the All-Ireland preliminary quarter finals, although in saying that they still have to play their nearest rivals Antrim and Carlow. Should be an exciting last two rounds.

    1. What's the story with Liam Watson (Antrim & Warwickshire)? Has he retired? He's 35.

    2. Any developments as regards the Arthur brothers of Clare, barred from playing with Louth?

    3. How does John Sheanon of Cuala play with Cavan? Does he reside or work there? What exactly is the rule? I believe a weak county can borrow three players, but what criteria must be fulfilled? Which weak counties qualify?

    Thanks.

Why Roscommon and not Mayo in the relegation playoff?[/quote]

According to the Wikipedia page, it seems two are relegated to the Nicky Rackard to sort out the groups in that competition, so that would make:

    5 teams - Joe McDonagh
    8 teams - Christy Ring
    8 teams - Nicky Rackard
    4 teams - Lory Meagher

I think its a story of what might have been for us this season, not being able to close out games has been our biggest downfall, was up by two points against Carlow heading for added on time and lost and was level with Westmeath going into injury time and lost.

Finally closed out a close game today against Antrim
