Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Joe McDonagh Cup:

    Antrim
    Carlow
    Kerry
    Laois
    Meath
    Westmeath

    It hasn't been a vintage year for the Kerry hurlers, and on paper, only Meath look weaker than them in this group. As for the title, Carlow have been most consistent over the last two years, so start favourites.

    Christy Ring Cup:

    Group 1:

    Kildare
    Mayo
    Roscommon
    Wicklow

    Group 2:

    Armagh
    Derry
    Down
    London

    Hard to make a judgement here, but Kildare were competitive in 2A.

    Nicky Rackard Cup:

    Group 1:

    Longford
    Louth
    Monaghan
    Warwickshire

    Group 2:

    Donegal
    Leitrim
    Tyrone

    Warwickshire have had notable successes at the lower levels, and may edge out Louth to add to their silverware.

    Lory Meagher Cup:

    Cavan
    Fermanagh
    Lancashire
    Sligo

    Lancs had a 100% record in a similar 3A this spring, so could make it a double.

    An early shock in the Joe McDonagh, as Westmeath claim the points in Portlaoise on a 2-21 to 1-21 scoreline. Antrim, predictably, hammer Meath 5-25 to 2-18.

    Kerry were more competitive than even most in the county expected, but Carlow ultimately won by three, 0-21 to 0-18.

    Looks like it's between Meath and Kerry for relagation

    Westmeath with a shock win over Laois and Carlow and Antrim winning too. Laois could be under pressure if they lose another game

    I think there is some limit now but I imagine the English teams get around that. I seen the Monaghan manager complaining about it this week in the paper.

    Yorkshire, Newcastle and further afield.

    Full time people needed on the ground
    Get the game into schools
    Train up volunteers
    Organise competitions
    Develop new clubs
    Run county development squads

    Surprisingly, Kerry had a 10-point win over Laois today, 3-20 to 0-19. Meath suffer a second hammering, Westmeath winning 4-24 to 2-17.

    Kerry +7 2
    Carlow 0 2
    Laois -13 0
    Meath -29 0

    Of course, if H2H applies, put Carlow above Kerry, so some poster might clarify that point.

    The Antrim red was questionable , no more than a yellow in my opinion. One of the Carlow reds harsh also but Coadys attack on McManus was savagery and deserves the book thrown at him.

    I heard he needed stitches in his nether regions alright. Sometimes the injury is worse than the intent, sometimes not,but that sounds pretty bad. It's a shame.
