    +1.

Best chipper in town. Always fresh and tasty, plus they always give generous portions.

Best chips I've had in town are in Ballybricken Chipper, couple of doors up from Alfie Hales. Always a decent portion too.

Where then? I will break a habit of a lifetime and check out your gourmet chipper?

It will be in Dublin where the world is a better place for him

Totally agree, nicest chipper going. Walker's are overrated and very scangey with their portions. A large chip there is smaller than a small chip anywhere else.

The Marion hands down, especially for anyone interested in the ancient art of taco chips.

Cleaboy, Marion, Doolys, Danny's all the rest are mediocre.

Seriously? a first with me is the fish have to be fresh, not grown in a septic tank in SE Asia n frozen and shipped here to be eaten 12 months later and at least one of those mentioned only sell frozen fish.

There's more things in a chipper than fish.

The thing is anyone living in Waterford who goes to a chipper once a week or once a month or even just once a year will probably have a favorite and will say its the best in town all the rest are over rated etc ,at the end of the day they're chippers and don't cost a fortune go to one and if you don't like it then go to another one until you find one that is in your opinion "the best in the town" ....

Indeed but as benchmarks go it's not a bad plaice to start with fish and chip shops.
