I don't think anybody would ever go to a doctor again after Oakley!

Tbh, I'm not sure anyone would ever go to a doctor or nurse again in Fair City...

Dr Judy - keeping McCoys trade going well with wine every night and openly discussing her husbands affair with Jo & her affair with her brother-in-law in the local park, Spar & community centre.
Dr Jim - telling patients their diagnoses in the park, Spar & community centre.
Dr Shane - sleeping with a patient who was mentally ill.
Nuss Ama - her very existence...

I remember Dr Jack in the 90s who was dating Lorraine and then I think he stalked and raped her.

In my mind Aunt Kitty is a female Onslow.. chillin in kk in her string vest whilst knocking back a few tins. Lovin have Zach and his crew validate her right to life

I always want Zach to return as an out of control young man because of his disfunctional parents and for Aunt kitty to be young enough and a cougar.

You’re right, not all therapists are good, some are actually very poor. But RTÉ has a duty to the people of Ireland to broadcast a fairly accurate version of a serious job like a therapist because so many people are reluctant to go to one, and now none will! If we viewers knew that she was up to something else, then it would be okay, but as far as we know she’s just a therapist. So portray it accurately.

I'm with you 100% here. It's completely irresponsible to portray a counsellor as rude, aggressive and argumentative (all of the things counsellors are trained not to be).

Even worse, she seems to have given Damien terrible advice, along the lines of "Put yourself first for a change and f*** everyone else". No counsellor would ever give advice like that. It's an atrocious depiction of the profession.

I said before. She is an unhinged former patient who killed the real therapist and is now pretending to be one.

Sadly, those stag party idiots were realistic. Acting the clown, setting off alarms, dressing up in silly costumes. Bound to be smalltime drug dealers? Or secondary school age brothers and cousins of the groom to be? No every time! Supposed professionals. Such people should have more respect for themselves. This gang are supposed to be accountants and sadly this is a realistic portrayal of young, silly, stuck up 'professionals' who think they can do what they like.

;-) I thought they were very well behaved in McCoys, entered the pub in single file and sat down quietly. No pounding the tables with their fists looking for drink, roaring or shouting....and not a blowup doll in sight.

I noticed that. That part was not realistic. The reason is if they were to do that, they'd have to be paid extra! All done offscreen like the Emmett in court scenes.

Not a word about Oakley and he portraying a doctor but as soon as it's the new trendy mental health the twitterverse explodes :D

Oakley never really hid his crazy. This yoke is supposed to be sane and failing beyond any level of parody

Preview of tonight's show has Caddle & Robbie arguing over Karen's hospital bed.... the actors must be getting fierce confused with their lines - same but slightly different bickering for about 2 weeks now

Good God, that therapist is one scary woman. Damo sitting there like a scared bunny while she shouts at him.
She has the same warm personality as the female cop.

Seriously though, FC's portrayal of a therapist as a judgemental bully is irresponsible. It could put someone considering seeking professional help off doing so and that's not good enough! Rant over. :)

She will make Damo worse :p

Ah sure that's par for the course on Fair City, they'll be well used to it!

I wouldn't blame the lad for comfort eating because of his mother!

So it's looking like Carol and Robbie will get back together, or else all this to and fro lark is silly. Yawn.

We must be due Keri Anne's paternity test results soon.

Where did this 'career' Karen is talking about come from?

All I've seen her do is pull pints.

Was she supposed to be a dancer?

You're probably right, I must have missed a few episodes where it was mentioned.

Yeah when Karen was going out with Sean she was a hotshot dancer who danced her way all over Europe.

Poor Damien making another balls of his date.

I think Damien might become possessive of Mia

That would be a good storyline. And as far introducing new characters go, the girl who plays her appears she can act! (take not Harmony etc) i think she would be a good character to keep around.

Loved Melanie tonight in response to Farrah telling her the pod was a 'family business!', and also Hughie needs to fire Kevin asap he is beyond annoying.

I hope the counselor sleeps with Damien!

    I hope not

At this stage there are very few characters who are not annoying. Ray and Decco can be funny at times. Cass has his moments. I just want to slap the rest of them in the face, except for Karen. I'd slap her on the arse.
