Think it’s finishing up here now. I have that feeling that this is the last snow for this season.

I just know by looking at it lol

    Feels like winters last hoorah

A lot of big flakes here in Dublin 7 now, but still quite a wet mix with it. Not sure we'll have any accumulations from this, but there's certainly plenty falling!

    Nah heavy snow in D9.

Place is just getting soaked however.

Shame about the front completely collapsing as soon as it turns to snow here.

A lot of potential for later in the month. I'd be surprised if it was your last.

Looking at the WRF model, could be a lot of trouble for the morning rush hour, as temperatures are going to keep dropping below 0 until around 9am. Gonna be very icy.

Thank you! I really wanted someone to tell me that ;)

Big sleety flakes mixed with rain here. Messy as expected.

Turned to snow here now , suprised as the temps were so high about 15 mins ago can anyone tell me the temps in Dublin ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,211 ✭✭✭John.Icy

Full snow here still in D9. Big flakes and bouts where its decently heavy.

However clearly need it to be a little colder as its not even settling on cars.

Temperature went from 6c to 1c in Dublin airport in the space of 30 mins (2:00 vs 2:30). TAF amended to reflect Snow-Rain, basically sleet with more snow than rain.

A quick lamppost check here shows things turning sleety :)

Dublin airport reporting light snow rain (or sleet) at 3am.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,211 ✭✭✭John.Icy

Snow turned heavy again. Must be colder as it's beginning to stick.

Next radar update will be interesting, front pepped up a little from 2:30 till 2:45. Might get a little covering if the backedge beefs up as it passes over.

Also the coldest of all stations at 0c. That cold pocket of air that went from Limerick/Tipp > Laois > Kildare > Dublin produced some wet snow.

Everywhere west of Dublin is reporting rain.

Time for bed is how it went! :D

Didn't get a covering in the end but had some "dinnerplates" coming down in a heavy 10 minute spell which was nice to see!

Onto the next event whenever that may be.

Strange, MET.ie reports 0c and the METAR reports 1c.

3:30 is reporting the same, sleet and 1c.

Snowing now again in West Clare. Certainly haven't got this much snow in a long time! (Last time was yesterday!)

    2.2c but dropping fast.

Update 03:47: 1.7c now, but no intensity so melting upon impact except on cars. Pity there's no intensity.
