Agree, extremely strong gusts in Cork City.

Strange this storm wasn’t named or even touching on an orange warning.

They put out an advisory last night highlighting the windy conditions that would take place so technically it was.

I was just wondering recently what happened to maq, shame he's no longer around, was the best poster on here for years

Back to tonight, getting quite windy with spits of rain in Kildare, I haven't been online all day so haven't seen the latest forecasts, not really expecting anything here but will keep watching in hope.

The triple point looks to be over Limerick at the moment so the occlusion seems fairly slow compared to what ME were showing last night where it was well to the south

Flat calm here. Eerie almost. Pressure seems to have bottomed out at 989 mb. 3.6c

a 3c rise in temps here over past few hours, looks like this will be all rain except for high ground and a few lucky spots in the north.

Absolutely chucking it down here in limerick city. Not much wind to report but the rain is turning to huge drops of sleet. Wouldn't be surprised if the east got snow.

I posted charts about this yesterday, but you can expect the temps to rise a little until that front passes, then there should be a couple of degree drop.

Agreed, the colour scale on their twitter radar screenshots is much more useful and it includes Belfast radar coverage too (and some other UK western Britain radars).

The old radar they had was better than either

    Hate the new beeb graphics

Dont know if its cloudy or clear anymore as no "shadow"

Also new rte graphics poor but some charts good like predictive rainfall ones they do

Rain and sleet turning to big wet flakes of snow here, East Limerick... further east should get something out of this, as was only expecting rain here! Temp dropping fast, but still at 2.3 degrees.

UKMO chart for 06Z shows the following:

Area B1:Eastern ulster, coastal Leinster down to Wexford:
Rain, occasional sleet, isolated moderate snow over land, isolated heavy snow on mountains.

Area A: Rest of the country:
    Isolate sleet/small hail/snow showers.

A lot of regulars left for a while and at that stage Maq not far off kept the forum going. Badly missed.

We've lost a lot of great posters down throughout the years. Maq as mentioned, and others who us 'veterans' might remember, such as 'Snowbie' & 'Harps' to name but a few.

Snow shovels tomorrow for the east. This isn't a five minute hail and tiny snowflake shower. It's chucking it down snow.
