Bye bye Carol, now don't come back you useless waste of space.

She had about 10 affairs and she still gives Robbie a hard time, wow.

Does she think snarling and shouting "Ill kill ye stone dead" makes her sound tough and hard. Yawn, jog on Carol.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Ah leave Cardil alone!

Cant. She has reached the absolute end of the road in this soap. There is absolutely NO reason for her to stay.

She is a living broken record- gangster background, affair, snarling mouth, alcoholic, affair, snarling mouth. Rinse and repeat. Insufferable.

I never pictured Carol as someone who would use the word "jerk".

Question I have is why do Jake and christiano talk in English? Would they not speak in Spanish.

Be great if Christy hey now turned to Kevin and said "Go away Kevin, I'm the only gay in the town".

Jake's reaction to the kiss was great!

What's going on with Kevin? Conservative enough, straight bloke..

Now he can't stop kissing everyone on the lips in everyday situations, did he get a bang on the head?

Hayley's house, Carol's every house seems to be painted manky green on the inside. The tenements in Strumpet City looked better inside..

Would've been great if Tommy had needed to break into Damien's by throwing a brick through the window and it hit Damo in the head again! Third time's a charm!

    Ha ha! Very good!

Maybe Kevin got hit on the head with 'BRICK':)

I was watching episode 2 of RTE's brilliant production of Strumpet City from 1980 a few evenings ago.

I'll upload on youtube and post a link in the next day or two as it's full of Fair City characters, some present, mostly past. Present day include Brian Murray, Tom Jordan and Ruth Hegarty (Nora). Past Pat Nolan (Barry O'Hanlon), Brendan Cauldwell (Paschal), Eileen Colgan (Ester), Charlie Roberts (Paddy Clarke).

Others like Pat Laffan (Pat Mustard in Fr. Ted), Donal Farmer (Glenroe), Mick Lally, Robert Carrigford and Alan Stanford.

You have international greats like Peter Ustinov, Peter O'Toole, Cyril Cusack and David Kelly.

P.s. If anyone hasn't seen Strumpet City it's probably the best Irish drama ever. Based on James Plunkett's book on the lead up to the 1913 Lockout and Lockout itself.

Have to agree with you Nagdefy about Strumpet City. Superb piece of work with a tremendous cast. Bryan Murray was excellent.

I think I am (very!) much in the minority but I liked Carol and Robbie together! Robbie was my fave character and I thought the way he stood by her was very comendable (although she was a nightmare the last while no doubt) I did think it was really out of character for him after standing by Carol through so so much, to just give it all up for a quickie with Aoife, esp as he is so close to Jack too. It will be interesting to see where the characters go from here...and if they do split them up, who will be the love interest for them both next.

Kevin was soooooooo annnoying tonight with all his 'whats the big deal' attitude or as he says in his grating accent 'whits the beg dale', yes a supposedly straight guy kisses a guy gay lunch time in a crowded pub, and he expects Christiano not to question why, does it mean anything etc!! And then Karen (ugh) back in the picture, it will be an incredibly annoying love traiangle!!!

Also where is Cathal Spillane, I miss him!!

I love Strumpet City, it's amazing all the actors who are in it.

Also watching Striking Out and all I can hear is Karen saying "Good morning Mr Dunbar!"

I'm quite liking the Kevin/Christiano plot. It could be good but I think it's a last minute plot decision. It'd be nice to have a heads up that Kevin was a bit conflicted before "the kiss".

Totally agree! I liked them as a couple as well....a shame to see them break up like that!

It'll be the same as Paul and Niamh. They'll be back together in no time.

I was too young / not interested in Strumpet City when it was first shown but remember my parents enjoying it. I read the book about five years ago and loved it. I must get around to getting a box set .

Damien must be the most pathetic character in it at the moment, replacing Emmett. As predicted, he will not be violent and is ending up more or less in the same position all the time. He fights with his girlfriends whether they are suited to him (Suzanne) or not (Caoimhe) and has more than once messed up work opportunities. When it comes to violence, it is others will be to him (Suzanne became the husband burner from hell remember) rather than he to others. I could see him commit suicide or threaten to though.

I feel uncomfortable watching him now. Not so much the pathetic thing but because he's totally broken. I hate seeing anyone in that state bar a really evil character like Trigger Foley. However the really bad ones never seem to break.

I found it sad watching him flittering through Saoirse's clothes etc. He's the epitome of despair. And when i watch him i think of all the suicides taking place around us all and how they must be in such despair.

I found Emmet pathetic in his weakness, Damien is on another level. He has been a good man and worked hard. Emmet never had any redeeming qualities. Gambler, no loyalty to the women in his life, weak character. I suppose i still remember the good in Damien after the parents died.

The main problem with the Robbie/Aoife/Carol affair was the speed. Should’ve had them at least sneaking around behind Carol’s back for a while at least.

Still have no clue where this kiss is going with Kevin

Just saw Damien sitting on the floor with the kids clothes and so broken

I must say felt very sorry for him, first time I felt actually engaged with it for a while

It was at least some proper bit of story telling rather than the usually atrocious writhing and acting

Who knows, maybe some proper writers and direction would solve 99% of the problems with this programme along with a few lay offs actor wise

Kevins a prick tease to both sides of the fence :pac:

God Harmony is one of the most annoying characters and actors in it

Shes going to try and apply for a sports massage job after "doing a course"

Hayley says it's proper sports massage not hippy dippy and harmony says where did you study before comet and Hayley says I used my initiative and Harmony says well I'm using mine

Ya love there's a big difference between chancing your arm at marketing without qualifications compared to doing proper medical therapy on clients. What happens if she doesn't apply proper techniques and knots up muscles and they get inflamed, etc?

Or does the small claims court not exist in Carraigstown?

    Is Kevin's accent real?

Why are non-smokers sitting in the smoking area of the pub in bloody January???

Because regardless of the change in attitude towards smoking, the smoking area is still the best place to socialse in pubs, it's where all the action is :D

I wonder did the Dan rapist idea come from Sam Atwell?

As Kane Phillips he raped Danii Sutherland in Home and Away around 2001/2002.
