He always falls away on Saturday when the camera is on him. Hope that this season, he can get that monkey of his back.

Steady this week, currently joint 3rd at 9 under (1 under after 14 holes today) 3 behind leader

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,991 ✭✭✭sword1

Two under through fifteen, five birdies and three bogeys

  • Registered Users Posts: 551 ✭✭✭A New earth

Finished 9 under (1 under 71 for the day) in joint 4th, 6 shots behind the leader Ryan Armour but only 1 shot behind 2nd place.

Same old same old today Im afraid. +2 through 11. Very poor compared to majority in field today.

Agreed. Sundays really do seem to give him the heebie jeebies more than most at his level. Especially when winning was a longshot from his starting position. 2nd place was likely the best he couldve hoped for and the thought of it sends him in to a tailspin.

Still tied 18th to earn $52k wasn't too bad but after the two 68's to start a top 10 might have been expected.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,067 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

Think a top 10 should have been the minimum he should be expecting. To be in 2nd last group out and finish with a +3 round is disappointing.

Disappointing Sunday again but one good thing is that on the ranking list for the 50 Web.com graduates he has moved up from 48th to 18th with the next rerank due on 19th of November

Doing ok this week in the Shiners Hospital. While 2nd round is not completed Seamus had 69 & 71 to lie joint 25th on 2 under, 9 behind the leader but only 3 shots off 5th place.

Did he get a black eye!:)

Looks like he got that black eye,+2 after 3 in the 3rd round. Slipping away.

He really doesn’t enjoy weekends. Would love to see his average scoring - Thursday/Friday vs Saturday/Sunday

Here are last season's PGA Tour stats. He had the 3rd best average in the first round but was 149th in the 4th round

Round 1: 3rd with an average score of 69.13
    Round 2: 19th with 70.0
    Round 3: 65th with 70.22
    Round 4: 149th with 71.31

Very good comeback, in the top 20 again playing 18

3rd Round: Good recovery from 3 early dropped shots to end with another level par 71 to improve to joint 18th, still 7 shots behind leaders and 3 behind 4th place now.

Hopefully that strong finish will spur him on for Sunday

Thanks. Really interesting - massive potential there if he manages to match that level of performance at the weekend.

T18 going into tomorrow, so a decent round could push him to a top 10.

The usual Sunday meltdown has started, double on three from nowhere.

Like yesterday, he seems to be learning to fight back at the weekend, birdies on 13 & 16 to get back to 2 under with 2 holes to go.

Great 2nd round of -6 for Seamus today at the La Quinta course in the CareerBuilder Challenge. Birdied 5 in a row on his back 9 and no bogies!
His strength seems to be length as he's birdied 3 of the 4 par 5s on both rounds.
    He's tied 30th now.

Going well again today, -5 for day after 12, T14
    Keep it going lad!

-8 For day with 2 to play

Bogied 17 but still shot-7 on the Nicklaus Tournament Course in round 3. He's -15 and joint 9th just 4 off the leader.
Birdied all 4 of the par 5s with just 1 bogey. .
This is good form early in the season.
    Let's hope today goes well

Steady start today in contrast to some of the previous times he has got himself up there. With the way the leaders have started, its hard to see him getting into contention without doing something spectacular but would be good to see him put in a steady round with a few more birdies and get close to a top5 finish.

Didn't birdie the 8th but top 10 gets him in next week so something to aim for

Just seen he is in next week anyway

The way he came through web.com finals I think he is good for most events bar WGC, players and masters until May then there is a re-rank type thing (I think)

He was ranked 49th of 55 from the web finals. At the moment he is 27th but a good finish today could get him to top 10 before next rerank in a few weeks.

Not an easy task, but he could still place tonight within top3, but think the night belongs to these trio:

    i) S.Piercy (Golf)
    ii) Jaguars (NFL) (+3)
    iii) Allen (Snooker)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,076 ✭✭✭billy3sheets

-2 today for -17 now after 12. Rahm and Landry lead on -20.
He's not birding the par 5s today. - 2 is a decent score today.
