Prediction: Dan to go ahead with his plan and "jump" Oakley.

You know you could always just choose not to tune in?

Looks like its Hannah and Dan to go. Shame, I wanted Damien or Carol to get blown up. Good episode though.

    You on a wind up?

The show has gotten progressively more embarrassing week on week....

I personally think the writers are under orders to make it as bad as possible, because if not then WTF!

    Dr Oakley for president!

Siege could have been good but so dragged out

Fair City with a good story line, but drag it out too much???? Noooo. That'd never happen. 🙄

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

Why watch it then, I don't get it? You have a remote and you have choice. If it were me and I wanted to watch something in the evening, I would pick something that I enjoyed. Weird.

FC can be crap at times but I tune in for that 10% of decent storylines and this was one of them in my view.

So who would you be taking the piss with on this thread if we all decided to switch off?

I’ll hazard a guess that 90 percent here watch it to slate it, and know it’s absolute d1rt as regards credibility..

And you yourself saying ten percent of the storylines are good. So 90 percent are what?

So the ones we disagree with you on means we should switch off? I don’t get it..

I'd love to have Dr. Oakley as my GP :)

Imagine asking him for a sick cert. He'd probably kidnap your boss for you!

I'm surprised Tommy didn't volunteer to go into the attic.

I think it was Ms. Westerosi who pointed out that Caoimhe's mouth is permanently open.

Imagine her going for a cycle on a leafy tree route in summer... She'd swallow some amount of midges..

Say she needs surgery to shut her gob..

You may be generalizing by saying that 90% here only watch for the laugh. A lot do but I don't know about 90%. Ive always been honest that I find a lot of it rubbish but I live in hope that the odd decent story like Heather and this cult can emerge and when they do I enjoy it. But I will never understand the mindset of watching something you know you hate and that obviously annoys you with the plotholes just for the sake of slating it. THAT I find odd.

Exactly! for all the dislike of the cult storyline I don't understand people who tune in to something they clearly don't like. At least I enjoyed some parts of it, and this storyline is one of them but as you say, what utter crap will remain when its over- oh Raymond is it yours is it Deccos, how ya Hayley flirting with Paul and Delores walking up and down the street?? Now THATS hell. :p

Have you read this thread..the vast majority of posts are people slagging it off. Some like me don't have control of the remote during FC..and as a licence payer I am entitled as anyone to criticise this awful show. Look at Twitter or even pages on Facebook..
Even the most into it fans are calling this for what it is.ridiculous. the only positive tweets seem to be people who know some actors or some writers.

Delighted for ye that ye are enjoying it, but I think ye are in a tiny tiny minority lads

Oackleys siege is top class compared to the siege Cathals dad did at the station. They really do love their sieges in fair city.

Jesus that house must have some fierce concrete in it, that's two girls with broken necks in there now

No. Both equally as sh1t and embarrassing as each other.

Who remembers the siege in Spar?

Plot Twist - Hannah survives. Doug nurses her back to health and teaches her how to have the neck of a pigeon.

How could we forget. The Benny Hill siege I call it...

Why would you want Judy beside you at night? Have you not got something better? The nights aren't cold, few degrees below freezing at worst, not -25C!!

The cat patches. Podge was always interfering with him.

Ah I watch it out if guilty pleasure, it's a farce most of the time but the fact it's an Irish soap is what makes me watch it too.

Red Rock was way too serious for me, Fair City is silly but it's light hearted and pure craic at times

However I'd never for a second even try to defend it if it was called crap cause you'd have a hard time making an argument against a statement like that :pac:

Home and Away was something that I genuinely found so annoying and stupid I stopped tuneing into. I'd say for me the fact it's Irish is what keeps me watching

I more or less guessed it would be Hannah to go first, because FC would never kill off two major characters, unlike the other soaps. My money is on Damo - dying later in the week of a bleed on the brain - to be the next victim. Everyone else survives.

As for Oakley, I hate the path they took with the character, they could have made him the quietly menacing baddie that people are still blind to, but is up to his neck in criminal activities, instead of focussing on all this group stuff. We still don't really know why he's doing it, except maybe for the childish reason that the Phoenix Way crowd all left him and went to Miriam's group.

The only thing that Emmet ever did or said that made any sense was actually, while in conversation with Oakley in the attic. ''None of this makes any sense'' or words to that effect. And why the hell didn't he just shoot him with the bloomin flare gun before he had a chance to start pouring petrol all over the place???

And to the cops.... surely to God they should have picked up from the tone of Miriam's voice that she was scared s***less and was just repeating/saying what someone else was forcing her to say. How come they couldn't hear Oakley instructing her in the background? And as to Oakley's plan to tie her up too. Sure if it all goes to plan for him - which it won't - then the forensics crowd would know damn well that Miriam wasn't the ring leader if he killed them all and she was tied up too? It's getting worse and more daft, but I suppose that's FC for you! :D

I enjoyed this storyline overall. I know these sieges are coming too easy as climaxes for these style stories but at least they are more interesting than what will replace it. This Kerrie Ann overdose is on the way!! Let's hope they bring Ciaran back soon.

I watch it for the craic! It's pure comedy to me and this thread and the laugh on here is worth that half an hour of watching pure drivel! Especially when you've watched another soap that had some genuinely sad scenes, it's all a bit of light hearted fun. I've never taken FC seriously or look forward to an upcoming plot because I think it'll be good - I look forward to it for the laugh and so I can laugh with other people (almost everyone I know who watches it) to discuss the s****y storylines and bad acting! :D

Fair City is the modern soap version of the 80s action film.

It's enjoyable and fun as long as you turn your brain off and don't take it too serious :pac:
