What's worse about the situation really was the second down, throwing for 5 yards not near the sideline. Bad call. The Steelers were on the sideline and they should have had their plays ready to go for the next two Downs seeing as the review was taking so long. Not only did they seem unprepared, but Ben's comments after would leave me to believe he got his Downs mixed up and when he threw the fake spike, he thought it was second down.

This is what is hugely frustrating. It has been timed - 3 minutes into the TD replay, Ben is still kneeling on the sideline (and had been for a while) and Tomlin told the OC to go for two plays i.e. no spike. Ben's comments seemed to say his instinct was to spike it but it was overruled on the sideline.

Regardless of the play, it indicate that there was no clear thinking going on. It should've been clear what they were going to do while the TD replay was going on.

The preparedness (and level heads) was ultimately the difference.

Another great game winning drive by Brady and some luck for us on the officiating side for a change. Need to keep the first seed now and the Bills game will be a battle. Read somewhere that we should keep Gronk off the field after recent events, which might be wise, but I can't see it happening. Not convinced that Brad has shaken off the Achilles injury he had back in November and I think it's still affecting him.

Hope to see some Giliislee this sunday. Curious if we see more of Britt getting involved. He could make for a very complimentary piece for the offense.

Is there no cut-off date for signing released players during the season in NFL?
Also can trades still be done at this time?

Watch him destroy Ben in the championship game

Bill answering questions about James Harrison:

    All he would say is:
"He played outside linebacker for the Steelers. ... We'll see how it goes."

    Malcolm Mitchell back at practice.

Gillislee, White and Burkhead all inactive today. Lewis should see a lot of carries but is there a chance Bolden will be used more? I ask as PaddyPower have Bolden at 425/1 for anytime TD!
EDIT: Bolden gone from PaddyPower site now, nevermind :(

HFA locked up, week off and hopefully we have a few players back healthy for the Divisional round.

Pity Ghost didn't get the scoring leader title to break the record.

James Harrison was excellent yesterday. Could be the biggest signing of the season for us.

Doubt it’s much different to other stay healthy books.

Well the one thing about it is that its a book by a guy that's 40 and is doing it and looks and acts a hell of a lit younger than his age.
I think I'll but it myself and not because its Tom Brady of the Patriots but because its Tom Brady the athlete.

Yeah, talk about an instant contribution!
2 sacks on his debut isn't bad for a guy who was "past it" in Pittsburgh

Seems ESPN are up to their old tricks of slandering Tom. Apparently he insisted on Jimmy G been traded away according to an unnamed source.

Tom actually has a good history with backups and mentoring so I doubt that story very much. COnveniently it's an "un-named source" :D

Ignoring that aspect of the article, it does hit a little close to home for my liking on the BB side.
Both Josh and Matt are interviewing for HC roles, and multiple positional coaches are interviewing elsewhere.
There is clearly some truth in the whole Patriot staff vs TB12 stuff.
It was clear that he traded Jimmy G as he had no options, not because he wanted to.

While I can ignore the TB rhetoric in the article, it does make me worry that BB may decide to walk away if we win another SB this year.

If it’s anti-Pats ESPN article using unnamed sources, it must be true.

There's no doubt some element of truth in there but absolutely nothing that has Brady/BB/Krafts at logger heads - The article is blowing up a few minor details and hoping that they catch a lucky break and that a 40 year old QB or 67 year old coach decide to call it a day. Which is gonna happen sooner or later with one of them. The relationship has always been about winning and that's not going to change.

Put this in the wrong thread but
Been a Pats fan before Bill and Brady and have seen the bad times and if they come again so be it I will continue to be a fan and go to games and hopefully if and when the bandwagons drop off I might get my season ticket.

I will say though no matter what we al believe there is a season left to play and the Patriots with a 40 year old QB have a chance to win number 6. If that is the magic number for Tom and/or Bill so be it we all knew this time would eventually come but f*ck me what a ride it will have been with both 1 or both of them around.

Who cares about who likes who and why decisions were made the way they were. A business decision was made and it is what it is.

Will we regret Jimmy leaving? Possibly. But nothing can be done about it so if and when Brady quits we pick up our big boy pants and get on with it. The media will have a field day with it and every told you so person will come out and tell us so and so what I say we have lived through some great years as fans and we will ride into the unknown with our heads held high and trust someone will guide us eventually to more glory.
