Fantasy Premier League Free hit advice?

Going to play my free hit this week so wondered if anyone could give me advice on what changes might make sense. Current team looks like:

    Ederson
    Monreal, Azpilicueta, Otamendi
Gross, D. Silva, Sanchez, Doucoure, Richarlison
    Morata, Lacazette

    Subs: Speroni, Abraham, Lascelles, Mbemba

Had too many players with bad fixtures this week to consider leaving the team as it was. This selection left me with absolute 0 in the bank. Thanks in advance for any tips.

I'd want a couple of Liverpool in there for sure. I think I would probably want three outfield players from city too. I'd go something like this (not checked values but should be close enough):

    GK: Pope, Elliott
DEF: Otamendi, Gomez, Kola, Dann, filler
MID: Sanchez, Cout, Salah/Sane, Richarlison, filler
    ATT: Lacazette, Vardy, Jesus

And play 343 and have Dann as a decent first sub. I'd only play the chip if I thought it had a points expectancy of atleast 20 points more than my current team so your team would have wanted to be pretty shocking bad this week to justify it imo.

Is that your current team or free hit team?

I assumed that was their current fh team! If that's their actual current team this is a bonkers idea!!

That's the team I was going to go for with the free hit. Got some of my best attackers normally with Spurs and Man. Utd. which I'm guessing might be a 0-0 this weekend and most of my lower price players are facing better teams this weekend as well.

Thanks for the alternate team suggestion and I guess anyone going to use their free hit could use this thread as well. Newcastle supporter myself as well so I won't be going to be picking Pope as goalkeeper and spending Monday night hoping Newcastle don't score. Fantasy football was way easier when they were relegated.

I reckon the vast majority(not all) members of this forum will have forgotten about this thread by the time they think to use their free hit.

You might be right but I thought it was strange nobody had started one(or did they and I forgot about it).

Got to thinking about changing the free hit team again just now having watched the cup game highlights. Anyone reckon Pep might give Bravo a go at the weekend since he played so well in the cup game?

Morata also didn't seem to do much when he came on and was thinking of making him captain at the weekend. Might have to scrap the first draft at the free hit team and start again or I could make as much of a mess of it as I did when I played the wildcard a few weeks back.

Bravo is a cup games specialist

Man Utd GK @ 3.9M Pereira and there are 3 midfielders at 4.3M and 6 defenders at 3.9M

Of course you may not need to scrimp this much but perhaps with 3 fillers and only one good sub you could have more upgrade options.

    Best of luck.

I'm interested to find out about what happen team value during this free hit.

Do you get increases and suffer losses from your temporary free hit team or from your permanent team, I'm guessing it its the permanent team.

I hadn't given this chip much thought yet, but that's a good point about from ElTel about loading up on the cheapest of the cheap bench fodder for the week to build a monster starting XI with as many big hitters as possible.

Could be a good tactic to use late in the season for team value builders on game weeks when some clubs aren't playing.

I'm saving mine for a week when I've less than 11 players but hope it works out for you.

    Hello

I still think the free hit is best kept for a skinny GW. Take a hit or whatever is needed to get through this week which will likely not be high scoring anyway. Just my 2c.

I've thought about it a bit now
I'd rather a free hit to get the likes is Sanchez in for this week as captain than for a skinny week to get burnely players in!

    I've already taken a -4 to get Salah/Zaha in
If I use Free hit do I get a -4 still?
Also next week would I have Salah/Zaha or will it return to Hazard/Chalobah?

Can't see it in the rules.
    Cheers!

Has anyone actually played it yet that could answer these questions as the rules are not clear

    From the rules/FAQ:

    Free hit:
Make unlimited free transfers for a single Gameweek. At the next deadline your squad is returned to how it was at the start of the Gameweek.

After playing your Free Hit chip, at the next
deadline your bank balance and squad is restored to as they were at the previous deadline, with any player price changes in the previous gameweek reflected.

Any change to your bank balance whilst the Free Hit chip was active will be lost.

I can only assume from that your squad returns to what it was BEFORE any transfers were made and your points hit will not count?
Could be wrong though, it's not very clear.

I need a definitive answer on this as I've made 2 free transfers and got players in I'm happy to keep who have also risen in price .......

A guy called Raoul (or something like that) used it recently (by mistake).

Maybe he’ll post and tell you.

Same, brought in Duffy and Richarlison for a -4 but used up all funds. If the team reverts back to the START of the ganeweek before these changes were made, I'll be priced out...

    Current team

    De Gea (Elliott)
Duffy -- Davies -- Lowe (Mbemba, Hegazi)
    Eriksen -- Salah -- Richarlison -- Sterling -- Carroll
    Jesus -- Chicharito (Kane)

With Kane out I'll now be starting TPT. Sterling not guaranteed to start after playing 120 mins in the cup. Back line is really weak, can't see any clean sheets there and Lowe/Hegazi could get 0pts or even minus figures... Chicharito has done nothing all season, will likely blank even against Palace.

    Free Hit Team

    Pope (Pereira)
Walker -- Azpi -- Moreno (Duffy, Rangel)
    Sanchez -- Sane -- Salah -- Richarlison -- Zaha
    Jesus -- Vardy (Lapado)

Much stronger team, great chance to make up ground with the injuries and tough fixtures

A lot of regular posters have not used this chip
Perhaps one or 2 who don't post regularly could help us out now ......

I'm tempted to Free Hit. Current team is:

    Elliott (Foster)

    Jones, Davies, Kolasinic, Ward (Naughton)
    Salah, Silva, Brady, Ritchie (RLC)
    Vardy, Aguero (Kane)

I do have 1FT (£0 ITB) but want to keep both Kane and Aguero as I have money invested in them and I will want them back.

I'd imagine I will be playing with 10 + a 1 pointer from either Aguero, RLC or Naughton. Jones and Davies have tough games whilst Brady and Ritchie aren't setting the world alight and Silva is probably the least 'explosive' City option this week.

Any upgrade to midfield would cost a -4 and selling either Vardy or Kolasinic to raise funds, two players I'm happy to have this week!

Pulled the trigger on the Free Hit.
If I still get a points hit or suffer from price changes then so be it.

    Post Free Hit team:

    Gomes Elliot
    Otamendi-Kolasinic-Moreno Naughton Games
    Sanchez(c) Dilva Salah Richarlison Zaha
    Morata-Jesus Quaner

    Going 3-5-2

5 of my front 7 for the free hit the same. Just Sane instead of Dilva and Lacazette instead of Jesus.

Feck it here's my free hit team so:

    Ryan
    Walker Kolasinac Ward
    Zaha Salah Sane Alexis(C) Richarlison
    Morata Lacazette

    Cheap bench fodder

Are you still showing as a -4 etc under transfers.
When you're on a minus and then use wildcard the minus disappears so I'd imagine it's similar here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,131 ✭✭✭✭km79

The free hit brigade are going to have VERY similar front 7!

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Benimar

    Possibly looking at:

    Elliott (Speroni)
Azpilicueta or Otamendi, Kolasinic, Moreno, (4.0),(4.0)
    Sanchez, Sane, Salah, Zaha, Richarlison
    Lacazette, Morata, (Quanar)

The ox could be a decent option for the free hit this week.
