The guy that owns the building knows nothing about Thai cuisine so I presume he's bringing in people that do?

    Yes.

    Hi shmee
    Have they restaurants somewhere else?

No but the owner has multiple deli's around Tipperary.

    Town House Deli.

    Outside people coming in then.

Past through late yesterday evening. It (Thai place in last few posts) looks like it is very near ready for opening.

Hard to see if there is much of a sit down area. (Would be nicer than yet another takeaway. )
The construction work seems to have taken a long time - so maybe there is much more sit down area than I could see; so will hold back until it opens and we can see.

Saw sign that Noel Ryans now doing food until 8pm, if its ok should do well as there is very little competition other than Hayes/Anner.
(Found the Anner over-priced for evening grub.
Has Hayes improved any for evening food - last time it took an age to get grub and it was unclear where to order and whether they were taking table orders)

Passed the new Thai place over the weekend and it looks impressive from the outside, hopefully it'll go well!

The Anner has changed ownership during the week so it'll be interesting to see if there will be much, if any, changes to it.

They dont seem to have menu online yet.
    Nice to have another option.
Steak sambo and lasagna are lunch staples there so prob have them on the evening menu as well!

Apparently The Anner has been bought by someone who owns a few 5 star hotels around the place...will be interesting to see what, if any, changes are made..

Had lunch in the Anner y'day, very hungover, but paying €6 for a bowl of soup and two stale slices of "home made" brown bread is not the way forward in Thurles. Lunch was €12 which wasn't too bad, but was still a bit pricey.

Anyone been into Yi Thai, beside Scoil Ailbhe in Thurles yet? I got take away there the other night and have to say it was very nice. Wouldn't know a whole pile about Thai cuisine but it was very tasty. Heard reports when it opened that the sit down was quite slow but you'll have that at the start when you're running a sit down and take away at the same time. Best of luck to them, inside looks smashing aswell.

Would definitely recommend Yi Thai. Lovely decor, fantastic food. We sat in last Friday for a meal, place was packed, service was great. The takeaway is great too. Wishing them the best of luck. Nice to have a variety of food to choose from!

Hope it works out for the Thai people.
Had steak sandwich and chips recently in the Anner and it was gorgeous and I’m very fussy.
The chips in particular were orgasmic!
The waiter pointedly asked us did we want the Sweet potato chips that are on the menu(no way Jose) or ordinary chips.
We wouldn’t have noticed if he hadn’t pointed it out.
Only complaint is that we waited 1/2 hour for our feed when the place wasn’t really busy.
